Does anyone draw ratings besides Rock? Who cares? At least Punk got some mainstream attention from those interviews with Sports Illustrated and GQ and stuff.

I tuned out the last segment because it was a meaningless 6-man tag.
I do think Punk is far less interesting now than he was just a couple months ago. He mostly just snickers. He doesn't seem to have an agenda, as he did before ... more like just a generic champ than the great "anti" that he was before.

Maybe if they didn't have Punk run everyone down and actually sell some of there top heels as....well, actual threats to him. The guy runs down every heel including the boss whenever he's on camera and they never make the audience believe that anyone is credible or a threat to Punk. This, too. Punk flat out tells people to change the channel when ADR is on. If you're going to get on Cole for crapping on faces, then say something about Punk doing the same to his top heels. He can't exactly go after ADR and Miz like he would Cena and HHH. They're not as bulletproof. That's kind of what I was worried about when the idea of giving Punk a run as the #1 guy came about. His schtick is still too focused on ripping someone's credibility completely apart. It would have been interesting during his little HHH detour for HHH to bring up how similar they are beneath the "insider vs. outsider" thing.

Since one liners are in vogue I'll add mine, if he sells more popcorn than he does T-shirts than he shouldn't be champion. But as above, I hope this is Newz and.believe it is. I like punk in the main event

If this means they will get the WHC off of Bryan as well then so be it.

They should do a raw supershow where Punk, Ryder, Bryan, and Rhodes all lose their titles to the most untalented hosses possible within the same episode.
Also at some point after losing his title, on the same show bryan taps to hornswoggle.

Seriously, I know that punk fans hate this, but is true, if HHH or cena had the same booking that punk, people will continously bitch about it, but since is CM punk, he gets a free pass, because I don't know

I think the real problem is they don't have any heels that are a threat to ANYBODY on raw.

People have different standards (rightly or wrongly) for CM Punk as they do for John Cena and Triple H. I can't begin to get all indignant over that...

CM Punk is doing the same crap that people complain about Cena and HHH doing, but they don't see anything wrong with it and think it's funny because he's CM PUNK!
The truth is that WWE books ALL their heels terribly, instead of maybe Mark Henry recently and NONE of them look credible or intimidating at all. Punk doesn't help with his constant run downs. the guy was born to be a heel. He's a prick and even as a face he remains one.

I think the effect would be lessened if in response to Punk calling ADR boring...ADR would crack him upside the head with a pipe or something the second Punk turns his back to him. Or say the Miz got John Cena to quit in a match or something because he was smart (or desperate and wretched) enough to incapacitate Cena then threaten one of his "fans" with a vicious beating if he didn't. I agree, no bad guy gives off an air of danger or competence unless you're Mark Henry or perhaps Kane for the next 15 minutes..

Being someone who actually subscribes to PWInsider then sees the things that get posted here from other places who attribute it to them, I don't buy any of this stuff that gets posted anymore. There have been an insane amount of news bits posted on this forum over the years that end up just being mangled versions of what was actually reported a week prior. This may very well be true, but I'm just not believing something posted from a second or third hand source in a game of internet telephone. For the sake of argument though, let's just pretend this story is true. Exactly what are they going to do it they do take the belt off of him? Cena isn't a TV draw. Triple H isn't a draw. Orton isn't, Miz isn't, no one is. This company doesn't have anyone who actually causes people to spike the ratings anymore. The only guy who has recently was Rock, and that evened off after the buzz died down. They have a group of guys who all sit on the same level. Swapping the belt around isn't going to make a difference. It hasn't for a long time. PWInsider isn't much better. I see them take rumored stuff from other sites all the time because I closely monitor them and about thirteen other news sites so that I can keep my new wrestling dirt sheet site more updated than most of the others.

Their ratings actually went up on Smackdown too when they did this with Henry, but the second the ring busting suplex happened at Vengeance, they turned him into just another heel.
