After Monday's ending segment, I find myself doubting Ziggler's ability to become a consistent main eventer. His in-ring skills are off the charts but his mic skills certainly leave a lot to be desired.
Anyone else feel this way?

I agree, though he's at his best when he's channeling '99 Jericho. Stupid cocky, screaming, whiny, talented-but-chickenshit. The key to backing this all up is having him WIN, so he's not just a loser heel. But when's just being "haha, I'm a bad guy, I have a briefcase, I'm a jerk, look at me" it's pretty boring.

I think he's a great promo that's only getting better as time goes on. I felt he held his own and made a real statement Monday.

I thought he wasn't bad but couldn't help but notice his voice cracking like a 13yo trying to ask out the homecoming queen every few words.

His promos are flat and he sounds as if he is reading lines from a script.

I'm not seeing his lack of mic skills. He's not the best, but he's good enough for the main event.

His promos are flat and he sounds as if he is reading lines from a script. Yea this seems to be my problem with him. I never actually get caught up in what he's saying and believe that he means what he says and that he's actually angry at his opponent. His actual voice makes him sound a bit like Evan Bourne as well (and that's not a good thing).

Ok one promo. That doesn't change the fact that more often than not he sounds flat in his promos.

I like him just fine. Sometimes he speaks a little too quickly, but otherwise I think he's capable enough.

He's not the best, but I don't think he's anywhere near bad.

He's not the best, but I don't think he's anywhere near bad. I don't think he's particularly bad, but I feel in order for him to be a top-level main eventer he needs to be great on the stick like Shawn Michaels became as he got further into his career. At Ziggler's size, I think he needs more than just his in-ring ability to be a main eventer.

What would your response be for some of the specific criticisms in this thread? Other than the voice-cracking, the other critisisms aren't very specific. Ziggler's always been a good promo, content wise, he's just had to work on his delivery. I think, when he's actual given mic time (which up until the Cena feud, was rare) he's up there with Punk and Cena, on the stick. Look at how far he's come from the awesome promo on Foley to doing some of the most convincing acting in WWE when he tore down AJ (where you could hear he secretly wanted her, but weren't beaten over the head with it) and I just can't understand why people consistently doubt his promo work, while I feel he's easily in the top 5 promos in WWE today.

I think he sounds off more the more that he talks. He should never say more than a few lines in any given segment. Same with AJ. When they get these long-winded promos it really exposes their weaknesses.

Considering Ziggler's pretty much an "internet darling" and people still do criticize his mic skills shows that he has at least some improving to do in that area.

He's not as good as Punk or anything, but he's not nearly as bad as some people make him out to be on here. I thought his promo on Cena Monday was perfectly fine myself.
