The difference with bringing back rvd of say jeff hardy, is those two are established wwe guys.
Batista was world champion at 36, he debuted in the wwe in 2002
Booker t and jbl were already established before winning the title
AJ would be starting from nothing. He is not coming in with fanfare as tna is typically looked down on by most wrestling fans.
He isn't finlay so he wouldn't have been as connected as finlay was a "player/coach" type working as a road agent helping guys get better.
If he gets a boogeyman type of character, maybe

I do not see him joining WWE. TNA will not let him go. He is loyal to TNA. He is a bit old to be a rookie(I know that very pattern of thought personally, not from wrestling but police work. The prospect of starting that hard a spot that late in life is tough. I said no thanks). He is the #1 homegrown talent in the second largest wrestling promotion in North America. Not a bad spot to be in.

It's not a bad spot to be in, provided they pay him enough to pass up other opportunities. Personally, if I were him I would explore my options thoroughly. Find out what I might get paid in Japan. Open a dialogue with the WWE (they did once offer him a contract that he turned down for family reasons, so they are familiar with him). The thing is that it does not matter how familiar WWE fans are with him. The WWE knows how to promote the hell out of debuting workers when they want to. Here is how I would book AJ Styles arrival to the WWE: William Regal can, in his capacity as NXT color commentator, mention that he is very excited about the future of the WWE. He can mention that he has been trying to convince a long-time friend of his to come to the WWE. He can refuse to mention the man's name because things are not finalized yet, but his friend finally decided to ignore his reservations about working for Vince McMahon and agreed to allow Regal to try to negotiate on his behalf. Regal then starts appearing in backstage skits with the Raw and Smackdown GMs (I have not watched in a while so I don't know who they currently are), offering them a chance to get exclusive rights to the top free agent in the industry today (that's right, he will ignore the Supershow format and be brand exclusive...for the right price), The Phenomenal One, AJ Styles. Of course, both GMs will balk at this notion for fear of upsetting Vince. By this point you have AJ working dark matches at either NXT or with the main roster to ensure that he is familiar with the ring, taking the time to tape some moves he does against NXT workers. At the same time Regal continues to trumpet his cause on both Smackdown and Raw, sometimes joining the commentating teams at ringside to help call matches and compare the workers to AJ and sometimes he will show home videos of him interviewing WWE Superstars about what they think of AJ. The announcing teams will, of course, ask Regal whether it is wise to risk upsetting the Undertaker or risk confusing the fans of AJ Lee by using names that are associated with them. He will state that Styles has internationally known by both names and could not care less if either of them get upset. For someone of his talent, there simply is no other way to describe him as phenomenal and his name is his name, so if the fans are so dimwitted that they cannot tell a world class talent from a crazy, little girl then no one could help them anyways. Hopefully the boldness of openly defying the Undertaker would make an impression. Meanwhile, during the Superstars' home video interviews they can all sing the praises of the well known world traveler, playing up the notion that they simply assumed that since it was obvious that he belonged in the WWE all along that there must have been some serious heat between Vince and AJ that kept it from happening sooner. Regal can finally "convince" the people who run NXT to let him appear on their show and have him really put on a show. This will then allow Regal to start "paying" for 30 second spots on both Raw and Smackdown showing footage of Styles in action with the tagline "Who will win the Styles lottery and sign him?" There can even be a backstage segment where Vince himself confronts Regal about everything he has been doing. Regal's response to Vince? "I missed my chance to truly make my mark, but I never had a fraction of the talent that AJ has. I don't want him to squander his chance to change the WWE landscape because he does not trust you. I'm going to make such an impression with the fans that you will have no choice but to stay out of his way and let him make you mountains of cash as he revolutionizes this industry." At this point, he get signed to a brand (or if you want him to be an arrogant heel he can sign contracts with both brands, thereby getting two paychecks when every other superstar gets one). Regal can do the bulk of the talking for him, though during matches you might want him to run his mouth the whole time, either to involve the crowd or to piss off the crowd (depending on how you use him). He will have been put over as a huge deal, will have the talent to make use of that, have Regal around to cover his few deficiencies, and you won't have to spend more than a few months to get him over prior to his actual debut. How would I debut him in Japan? Simply announce that he is coming and show some footage.

No way will TNA let him go. He's like, the spirit of TNA at this point. Just wouldn't be the same without him.

AJ Styles in WWE would be interesting. Most likely disastrous, but very interesting nonetheless. Yeah, it would be like "I cannot see this ending anything but badly and yet I must see this to the end."

AJ Styles in WWE would be interesting. Most likely disastrous, but very interesting nonetheless. Yeah, it would be like "I cannot see this ending anything but badly and yet I must see this to the end." If he's not main eventing in a year, then people will be saying it was a disaster. There's no chance it's because he's just not as good as everyone think's he is. It's because WWE doesn't want to push him because he was in TNA and/or he's small. Which both claims have been proven false, but some people will make anything up to prove a point. And personally, I don't know where he would fit in WWE. Hell, WWE has such a stacked and talented roster, I highly doubt pushing a 37 year old AJ Styles is going to be WWE's top priority. Their busy building up a 32 year old Daniel Bryan to be a mainstay main event for the next few years to come.

Well they wount let him keep the AJ name for WWE doesnt want thier fans to confuse him with thier AJ Along with Joey Styles, to a lesser degree. The second most famous AJ in wrestling should have to change their name, then. So what do we call him?

I just don't think Styles will ever go to WWE. If he leaves TNA, I think it'll be ROH or possibly Japan instead.
