I wouldn't want him anywhere near WWE. Too much of a deadringer of his dad

Would be neat I guess but it's unfortunate for him that he probably won't be well received by some because of what his dad did.

Never EVER going to happen in the big leagues. If he wasn't a spitting image of his father, I could see it. But he is, and that will make larger promoters balk at booking him.

Could probably get a gig in Japan, but that's about it, the elephant in the room would be too big most likely.

Even if they put him under a mask (Pegasus 2?), it's still going to come out sooner or later that his father was the infamous Chris Benoit. Now, unless this was WCCW, I don't think any promoter would want to risk that kind of media scrutiny.

There's no way in the world WWE ever brings him in, which is unfortunate. David may become one hell of a talent and grow into a genuinely great guy but he won't be judged on either of those with the shadow of his father constantly looming over him.

I know this will sound like a joke, especially since nearly everything I post here is usually a joke, but honestly? If I were in his place...I'd go into wrestling with a mask and go to cartoonish lengths to not let anyone know who I was. I figure the guy did a lot of thinking before deciding to do this, so he is definitely aware of...well, everything surrounding that decision. Best of luck to him, I hope he can push through and do what he wants to, even if the road ahead will be tough. I genuinely feel for the guy. Not only is his father dead, but...well, you know. Imagine "wrestling" with yourself about whether to follow a dream or not when that dream is a connection to your father and your father...well, you know.
Man I can't even imagine what it was like to make that decision, so I genuinely hope everything goes as well as possible for him. So if after considering everything he still decided to be a wrestler...well, I guess that means he must really love wrestling and be really determined to see this through. And I can't help but feel a deep respect for a guy willing to go through all sorts of hell for something. I'm one of those people who can't wait Benoit matches. It just feels weird to me. But I hope this guy has a good future ahead of him and I'll be sure to watch his matches if he does.

Are people actually against this? If he has a fraction of his dad's talent he could be awesome. You guys realize he's not the same person as his dad and probably has never killed anyone right?

I'm NOT a fan of holding something your parent(s) did against you. That's just wrong.
If he's good enough, let him earn his spot like anybody else.

Yes, however the question isn't "should he get a chance" it's "would he". That's the rub. WWE would not hire him, not a chance. They're a public company and it doesn't matter if the guy develops into the next Hulk Hogan, the absolute second WWE signed him his family history would be on the news channels with headlines like "WWE inc hires son of infamous murderer" and it would kill the political campaign of whichever McMahon is running for something at that point. The days of El Santo being able to keep his mask on in public and be a total mystery to the public while being super famous are over.

Yeah I've never been a fan of Benoit and that was even before he killed anyone, that said his son doesn't deserve to be treated like shit just because he's Chris's kid. His kids didn't do anything wrong, his friends didn't do anything wrong, Chris alone should be held responsible for his actions.
Try to imagine what it would be like if your father did something horrible and you had to pay for it. What kind of bullshit is that?

I'm the first guy to say Chris Benoit shouldn't appear anywhere on any WWE releases and shouldn't be seen or mentioned again except in unavoidable circumstances, but let the kid be his own man. It's not like any company in their right mind would declare "COME SEE CHRIS BENOIT'S SON!" Just never, ever bring up his past and let him do what he does.

My only real fear would be if some asshole crowd started chanting his dads name or something. However I'd like to think even the worst WWE crowd has to be better than that. I mean nobody new uses their real name anymore anyway. Sure, people might know who he is but big deal. I would, however, not let him use the crossface. That's close enough to bad taste that I wouldn't want to touch it.
