I wish all the best luck for him. Hopefully he doesn't get a raw deal for what his dad did.

Good luck to him but man, if I was him I would want no part of the wrestling business.

Okay, to undercut my earlier point I just came up with a gimmick for him if he ever gets to the WWE.
He looks almost exactly like his father, give him a pair of tights that look like the type his dad wore and give him the the same entrance as Gangrel, minus the blood spitting.

I honestly feel bad for the kid, no matter how talented he is no big company would ever sign him just because it would be a PR nightmare.
BUT that's not the worst part. What i worry about is the scummy backwards promotions using his dads name and declaring proudly "COME SEE THE ONE AND ONLY SON OF A MURDERER!"

In an absolute worst case scenario, you could put him in a mask? He's not guilty of anything, so why should he be stigmatised?

Randy Orton: Your dad isn't up there. he's down there...IN HELL. David: *shrugs*

Like some others have said, I am honestly shocked he wants anything to do with the wrestling business. If I were in his position, I'd distance myself as far away as humanly possible.

I just picture WWF officials of old (Garea, Goulet, Dave Hebner, Patterson, Lyons, etc) constantly trying to prevent him from entering a wrestling arena; and then joined by referees, wrestlers and fans from getting into a wrestling ring.....

One of two things happen:
1) Heartless piece of shit promoter capitalizes and runs a Benoit gimmick. 2) WWE signs him and censors his face and name.

Reminds me of Lacey Von Erich deciding to get into wrestling despite the fact the business played a significant part in the deaths of her dad and four of his brothers.

I now feel completely heartless for suggesting this but... Since he looks so much like his dad, WWE should sign him, have him wear the same tights, give him the same music and move set and have David wrestle under his dads name. Everybody on screen will act like it's no big deal and when asked where he's been the past six years, David/Chris would just say that he's been hanging around the gym.

The child should not pay for the sins of the father. If he ever was good enough for the WWE(long shot)it's not like he wouldn't be given a new name anyways.

He is not his father. Give him a chance. Society can be so hypocritical to judge someone based on an infamous relative.

How completely unfair would it be for him to get turned down simply because his dad commited a horrible crime that probably deeply affected him? I hope they wouldn't be that callous, though I'm not sure how it SHOULD be handled.

Jericho said in his book that his dad and wrestling were the two most important things in David's life and during the first conversation that Jericho had with David after the deaths the only thing he said was "Does this mean I can't come to the wrestling anymore?" If David wouldn't be able to achieve anything due to his father's name, that is bullshit. It wasn't his fault, don't punish him. I'm hoping that people would show enough decency to the kid to not drag all the history up.

I can't see it ever happening, especially in WWE, but if he was good it'd be nice to be able to associate the name BENOIT with great wrestling again.
He could bring back the wrestling prestige that name SHOULD hold.

I know I just couldn't do it, every day would be a reminder. And I do hope that he does get the chance in spite of everything. If he has even one ounce of his father's natural talent, he could be a huge star one day.

Another horrible scenario if Vince sees him, he goes into some warped temporary insanity that he deludes himself that Benoit never died, and that 2007 never happened and that it was all a bad dream. He then contacts Stone Cold about an idea he has for him, like getting run over by Rikishi.
