Although, as others have brought up, what major promotion would hire him?

His gimmick could be that everytime someone meets him, they'll say "Aren't you.......erm.......you know?"
He'll say "...(sigh)........yeah!"

I'm sure he did a lot of thinking before deciding to train. I wish him the best of luck....but his only real shot is doing everything in his power to make sure no one knows who he is and wear a mask.

I'm sure the kid could have a solid career in Japan, maybe play up the Pegasus Kid connection, give him a redemption story where he wants to clear his family name.

Give him a shot. It will be awkward, but everything his dad did should not be taken out on him. If Snuka's kids got a job, why not Benoit?

Sounds like a bit of a bad idea, but if he wants to go through with it then more power to him

He has big shoes to fill. His dad Hardcore Holly was an awesome pro wrestler.

I'd like to be bring up that Lacey Von Erich was fine despite her family's history. When I say fine, I don't mean her wrestling skill or lack of.

I feel like a lot of people in this thread are fighting one side of a battle no one else is fighting. Folks going "Hey, we shouldn't hold what his father did against him!" Well...I don't think anyone is doing that. They're just saying that the WWE might because of the PR ramifications.

Imagine if he's booked in a tag team with Sabu.
I'm sorry :/

As long as he does not cut promos saying, "Wrestling is in my blood!" because a heel opponent would most likely respond, "So is killing!"

Imagine if he's booked in a tag team with Sabu. I'm sorry :/ Well, the obvious problem here is that Benoit wasn't death defying.

Then you might as well just say the WWE. There's no promotion in America bigger than TNA but smaller than the WWE.

I find it pretty unsettling he even wants to get into wrestling to be honest.
Come on, he's a young guy. Why doesn't he, I don't know, go to college. Or try some other career where he won't be constantly stigmatized? Wrestling is the last thing he needs to be involved in.
And please don't say "Well, it's his dream." If your dream pretty much guarantees that everywhere you go you'll be the recipient of weird stares, hear hushed whispers and be black-balled from most of the business simply because of your last name...eh, it might be time to find a new dream.

Who's to say he won't be stigmatized otherwise? He still has "Benoit" as his last name and as far as I know , his father is the most notable figure with that name. Maybe David's middle name IS Chris. All I know is that even if he weren't related to Chris Benoit, but coincidentally still had the same last name, people's thoughts would immediately go to the guy who killed his wife and child before becoming an hero. Everyone would go, "Your last name's Benoit? Like the wrestler who killed his family amirite?" If he went to college he'd probably be shunned and tormented on campus with eyes looking at him every day. Same thing would happen if he got a "real job". I'm not saying he shouldn't go to college and get a job, but the kid is probably screwed either way At least people in the business might be a bit more understanding.

Eh, the name hangs over him, but at least if he became a manager or a plumber or whatever, it wouldn't be constantly brought up. There's no reason he, or his sister, can't have normal lives. Benoit wasn't as famous as OJ, or anything like that. If he gets into wrestling, he's NEVER be allowed to forget who his old man was. Never.
