So an event headlined by Orton/Big Show, and Cena/Del Rio does poorly. Who gets the blame for this one?

Maybe, just maybe, they'll blame the Authority angle?

Maybe, just maybe, they'll blame the Authority angle? No I bet it's like "SEE! We put both your favorites, Daniel Bryan and CM Punk, TOGETHER!, and NO ONE CARED! Have some more Big Show!"

It's all of CM Punks and DB's fault

Five lackluster PPV's in a row, and the only constants all five PPV's was Triple H, unless Orton's cash in at the last minute (non-advertised but expected by most of us) counts. So it's either Trips or Orton/Trips as the constants for five straight below expectation results.
I know, buyrates are fore smarks and such, but if Sony says "We expect to move this many Playstation 4 units in this time frame" and come in at significantly below that number, it's not "Let's blame the consumers for expecting too much".

To put that number in perspective; - The lowest Survivor Series buyrate in history
- The Survivor Series buyrate has dropped by nearly 55% since 2006
- The third lowest bought PPV this year (next to Battleground and Night of Champions)
- Payback, a PPV introduced this year, managed to draw bigger numbers than a 25 year old established PPV

What, people didn't want to see Big Show main eventing in 2013?
Color me shocked.

I don't remember one match from Survivor Series. Damn I wonder why it got turrible numbers.

I just don't get why WWE does it though. They MUST have looked at the line-up at some point before the PPV and gone "well this is gonna be shitty". And instead of doing just a few basic things that may have at least kept the buyrate around the 200,000 mark (stipulation for Show/Orton, the 6-on-6 everyone wanted, Sandow added to the world title match) they thought "nah, f*** it".
WWE only has themselves to blame. Not the wrestlers and not the fans.

I think the overall product is to blame.
WWE have really shifted this year from a variety sketch show with wrestling on it to a show with only Wrestling and nothing else.
People don't want to see a toned down version of 80's NWA crossed with WCW circa 1998 no matter how much Triple H is a fan of the NWA.
Hell they only seem to run like 1 storyline at a time now (if you're not involved in the Authority storyline you don't get a storyline), they are far too event driven at the moment, WWE seems to of forgotten the importance in characters.
Plus the screwy finishes haven't helped, I know they've been using them to try and get heat, but too many PPV's in a row didn't need screwy finishes, then the one where a screwy finish would have worked had a clean finish.

The show was poorly built and had people main eventing that nobody wanted to see. I fear for the TLC butyrate right about now.
