Saw it last night and I thought it was decent, Not one of the better ones but sits firmly in the middle.

Saw it at a 10:10 screening on Thursday night. Pretty good crowd for a movie that wrapped after midnight, I must say. Movie is really solid. Wasn't worried about a possible problem the way I was with GOTG or Ant-Man, but went in having never read a word of the Doctor. I'll have to adjust that, as I found the character and the universe really interesting and compelling. For me, it's the top of the mid-card among Marvel movies, equal with the first Thor, which is ironic given I wasn't sold on the Marvel universe being good past Iron Man until that movie. This one brought in the mystical with the same style and compulsion. My only real complaint is I felt something got cut from the middle of the movie, like there was a scene or two missing. Now, to spoilers: {Spoiler}{Spoiler}{Spoiler} Listen on rewatch, they mention a 'soldier with an injured spine wearing an experimental suit of armor' who Strange dismisses as untreatable. Nice call out to the end of Civil War and good for time and place with this movie.
Got serious Cate Blanchett vibes off Tilda as the Ancient One here, which is encouraging for the next Thor. Her dumping Strange on Everest was fun too.
First time I'm aware of seeing Mads Mikkelson in anything and he nearly stole the movie! Would love to see more involving his character, maybe in prequel comics or in future movies.
Holy crap, I didn't ever recognize Benjamin Bratt in his scene and finally had it click in my brain during the last end credits scene! 'Too many sorcerers' is going to be interesting for the future, given I was of the impression from this movie, there were not that many anyway. Hmm.
And Strange will apparently be back next year in Thor! OK then! Better put plastic sheeting down on movie floors for the fangirls, they were already squealing over the mid-credits when Hemsworth showed up. {Spoiler}{Spoiler}Its not a shoutout to Civil War and Rhodes...it's a shout out to Iron Man 2. It's the soldier in the Hammer Tech armor that Stark shows when he's proving that no one is close to duplicating his technology. That's why Strange is a lot more seasoned by the time Thor shows up at his doorstep looking for help. {Spoiler}I want to agree, but the aerial shot of NYC before Strange got in the car showed Avengers Tower in midtown, meaning post Iron Man 2. Plus, the War Machine suit used the Mk II Iron Man armor, ergo prototype, therefore Rhodes. Could be wrong!

All of the rumors I had heard before said IM2 timeline since he was supposed to be a lot stronger come Infinity War.
The director has confirmed that it's not War Machine being referenced. But if Avengers Tower is there it kind of makes the whole thing wonky. IM2 makes sense since Sitwell name dropped Stephen Strange as a Hydra threat in Winter Soldier. Kind of silly that a neurosurgeon would be a threat...but then again...

So we know this all occurred sometime after the first Avengers film. But here's what we need to remember. Yes, Strange wrote off the spinal injury to someone using experimental armor. What we don't know is how much time passed between the car crash and him meeting the Ancient One. I'm inclined to believe the first 30 minutes occurred around the time of Iron Man 2, but everything else happened post-Avengers. The mid-credits scene obviously happened after Thor: Dark World but also could've been at the same time as Winter Soldier.
*Edit Adding to it, we don't know when after Thor: Dark World. We don't know when Thor actually noticed Odin was missing or what led to him and Loki searching for him on Earth. I expect we'll get flashbacks or something in Ragnarok

{Spoiler}I thought the scene was from Ragnarok, same as the end scene from Ant-Man was from Civil War. Actually still would argue for flipping the mid credits and end credits scenes.

{Spoiler}From what I understand, the beginning of the movie and the main part probably take place at least a year apart. It wouldn't be shocking if his training and that fun through other universes takes awhile. The Thor scene could be from Ragnarok so there's that too. I'll have my final thoughts when I can see it my next day off.

Saw it this morning with Mom, and we both enjoyed it. The cast was top-notch, the visuals were amazing, and the score has me interested to hear what Giacchino has in store for us with Spider-Man: Homecoming. {Spoiler}{Spoiler}{Spoiler}Dormammu, I've come to bargain.

Saw it yesterday and really, liked it. Wouldn't say it was my favorite Marvel movie though.

my biggest peeve of the movie {Spoiler}IMO Strange became a good sorcerer too quickly.
A montage of him improving would've been nice.
Adding, I loved how Strange defeated the villains, It made a change from who can punch the hardest.

So it was just his natural calling, but first he had to let go and lose a lot of his ego.

Absolutely loved it. I'd probably put it in my top 5 Marvel movies, but I usually feel that way after seeing every Marvel movie until I've had time to think about it. That's never a bad feeling to leave the movie theater with.
Good set of trailers:
xXx (looks like dumb fun) Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them (OMG I CAN'T WAIT) Logan (HOLY SHIT) Guardians of the Galaxy (YESSSSSSS) Star Wars: Rogue One (f*** f*** f***)

{Spoiler}{Spoiler}{Spoiler}{Spoiler}Dormammu, I've come to bargain. {Spoiler}That scene was one of my favourites in a comic book movie, such a cool and different way of resolving the danger.
Also, wrestling writers? Watch the end credits bit and you'll see a new villain being made who the audience can see the logic of why he's doing what he's doing but going to the furthest extremes. Try it sometime, it'll do wonders for character

This was a lot of fun. Cumberbatch did a great job, he was the right mix of snarky jerk and empathetic figure. Actually the whole cast was good. It's a basic origin story with some unique twists. {Spoiler}{Spoiler}{Spoiler}{Spoiler}Dormammu, I've come to bargain. {Spoiler}That was clever as all hell. I can see that becoming a popular quote/meme.

Over 325 million at the box office, with 87.7 million coming from The US opening weekend. Maybe GOTG2 will be Marvel's first flop

Really enjoyed it, though I wouldn't put it in my top 5 for Marvel. Did the movie feel like it was only an hour and 20 minutes to anyone else? It flew by to me.
