Didn't Strange become a neurosurgeon to try and save his dying sister? Or was that just in one of the cartoon movies?
Giving him a selfless -> selfish -> selfless arc?

I enjoyed it. Had some good humor in it, and some of the trippiest sequences I've seen this year (only film that comes close is The Neon Demon). I mainly can't wait to hear what my dad thinks of it though. He's always been a Dr. Strange fan, and he's planning on going to see the film sometime this week, which is different because the only time he goes to the theater is whenever I drag him.
Also got a ton of trailers before the movie. In order:
Ghost in the Shell (this was a weird one, as it was a teaser mixed into the AMC intro of turn your phones off, report suspicious activity, etc) xXx: Return of Xander Cage Power Rangers The Great Wall Life Logan Wonder Woman Rogue One: A Star Wars Story Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol. 2

This was a lot of fun. Cumberbatch did a great job, he was the right mix of snarky jerk and empathetic figure. Actually the whole cast was good. It's a basic origin story with some unique twists. {Spoiler}{Spoiler}{Spoiler}{Spoiler}{Spoiler}Dormammu, I've come to bargain. {Spoiler}{Spoiler}That was clever as all hell. I can see that becoming a popular quote/meme. I saw it today, and I was pleasantly surprised at Cumberbatch's performance. I remember Star Trek Into Darkness gave me the impression that he was kind of a boring actor, but I really like how well he can play a snarky character while also showing a lot of emotion. Also, and I kind of knew this going in as the trailer did a good job of showing it, but I am in love with the CGI in Doctor Strange as a whole. I know it's 2016 and we expect movies to have good special effects, but man, Doctor Strange brought it. The twisting buildings, floors, cars that bend around corners, the end in general. So damn cool.

Another thing I gotta say...As someone that really doesn't like 3D movies, I really wanna see this again, this time in 3D. The effects were crazy.

To be honest, his Strange is all that much different from his Sherlock. The two characters are pretty much cut from the same cloth, Strange just has a wider emotional range.

On related note, here is Benedict Cumberbatch doing mo cap for Smaug.

Not even gonna lie, the Cloak of Levitation was probably my favourite character in the movie. And that's not an indictment on the rest of the cast, the Cloak was just hilarious and reminded me of Carpet from Aladdin.

Saw the movie. Trippy as hell, but really enjoyable. Cumberbatch was a great Strange. Trailers shown when I went were GotG2 and Assassin's Creed.

Just saw it, it was great. And give it up for Racheal McAdams, MCU does a love interest right for the 1st time in a while.

Finally saw this today. It was amazing, I especially loved the special effects. {Spoiler}I laughed my ass off at the part with Dormammu. It was basically a video game at that point. I also marked out at the Thor cameo.

Saw it again last night, this time in 3D. I can honestly say it's one of the few movies that not only makes good use of the gimmick, but may even be improved by it.

Half a billion at the box office thus far, and The Good Doctor has put the MCU over Ten Billion at the box office.

I wanted a moment where Dr. Strange visits the Quantum Realm and since time doesn't really exist there you would see a glimpse of Ant-Man in the background.

So has anyone floated the possibility that the Ancient One was a mix of the Ancient one and Moondragon?
