Watched Celtic overcome Lincoln Red Imps 3-0 earlier tonight, winning 3-1 on aggregate to advance through to the third round of the UEFA Champions League. Celtic will play FC Astana of Kazakhstan in what will no doubt be a tough tie.
Patrick Roberts is an actual magician. It PAINS me that we've only got him for the rest of the season. Man City should consider themselves very lucky that this guy is on their squad. Incredible talent. If he'd scored after twisting and turning between one of the Lincoln players I'd have been doing cartwheels.

Pogba's supposed price tag is just ridiculous. Yes, football fees are beyond a joke these days but even so, £100m is just stupidity. As someone said earlier, even for the likes of Messi or Ronaldo £100m is laughable. For an unproved talent like Pogba, it's hilarious.

They might have successfully limped past the Imps, but I cant help but feel that the draw hasn't worked out too kind for Celtic. I've had a look and noticed that Astana took points off Benfica, Galatasaray & Atletico in the Champions League last season.

Oh yeah it'll definitely be a tough tie, especially since it'll take six hours to get to Kazakhstan and apparently Astana play on an artificial pitch. Hopefully Rodgers makes a decent signing or two before the deadline for registering players for the third round expires later today. Still think we can squeak through, but it won't be easy for sure. At least the first leg is away so we can try and steal an away goal and then finish the job at Celtic Park the next week.

Yeah, but they only made it there because of HJK's goalie having an absolutely horrendous game in Kazakstan in a match that ended 4-3. Örlund let in a cross and a weak shot from 25 meters, had he actually done his job and saved those then Astana wouldn't have gotten to the group stage. I'd say Celtic have a great chance to get past Astana.

Liverpool signs Georginio Wijnaldum for £25M. Another midfielder who performs well at home and goes missing at away matches. As if Liverpool didn't have enough of those types of players.

Can't say I've been a fan of Liverpool's offseason, thus far. To be fair, they haven't spent an egregious amount of money.

Here's an odd one:
Lazio could be awarded with its third Scudetto, given to them for the 1915-16 season.
It would be jointly held with Genoa. There was to have been a playoff for the title, but it was cancelled due to the outbreak of WWI. Genoa was awarded the title because they were widely considered the better side at the time.

Steve Bruce has quit Hull for.... some reason. I think he recognised they were going nowhere...who have they signed this summer? He had hinted as soon as they were promoted that he might leave.

Until the takeover happens Hull aren't going to be signing anybody, and since the takeover isn't expected to happen until after the transfer window closes...

Also selling Wijnaldum for 25m is great business for us (Newcastle). Went missing way too often last season and his transfer funds have helped us buy players better equipped to get us promoted in my opinion.
It also pretty much establishes Sissoko's value when it comes to selling him.

Excellent, two relegation candidates have their pre-season preparations thrown into turmoil on the same day Noticed on betting sites that Neil Warnock is favourite to take over at Hull. Cant see them being too impressed with that appointment.

Something's just telling me that Manchester United continues to mirror the New York Yankees as a contemporary in the fact that they have an average club that they keep trying to fix by spending truckloads of money.

Kolo Toure is signing for Celtic. I'm a bit sad about that. He's a dependable replacement defender with bags of experience. I know Klopp wants to have his own team but I'd have kept him around.
