To paraphrase on a current Wrestler that is not well liked here in the FAN forum (Cheap pop) Shadow is like ADR that was supposed to be a big deal fairly quick but he was pushed way to fast and put in a game the killed any chance he could get over and that the only reason Sega keeps putting him in games is that they overbid on his contract so they have to use him

Shadow's problem was that his sacrifice at the end of Sonic Adventure 2 was a perfect capstone to his character, so bringing him back just seems like a waste.

I like Rouge though for some reason. Interesting to have a coy thief with other traits besides that (making her different than Fang/Nack).

Pretty sure Shadow is still pretty popular

From what I've seen online regarding Shadow, the whole "he has guns and drives vehicles" thing kinda stained Shadow's popularity. Well, that and Sonic 2006, but that game hurt everybody's popularity.

Sega of America owns the SatAM characters, always have. Sega just doesn't give a shit.

Which blows, because the current updated Sally would fit seamlessly in the games. Not even counting her new Segaish look, her lazer blade gauntlet things could make for great attacks, either in sidescroll or 3D.

As for Shadow, I do genuinely like him outside of his solo game and I think his surly attitude works as a good counterpart to Sonic's friendliness- what Sonic would be if he lost his way. So long as it's established that he is a jerk, and they're not trying to pass him off as a badass cool dude, he's enjoyable.

When Nintendo stops having Mario as a mostly-silent protagonist in his games (not counting the yahoos, yippies and such) we'll have a better chance of it. Unless they do something like Smash Bros. Brawl's Subspace Emissary.

All the more reason Sally at the very least should get some game appearances as she is in technically a game-originated character. What's even more baffling is that Amy Rose isn't!


"Emi" AKA Rosey The Rascal was a manga character that got adapted into Amy Rose in the games. I think Charmy is also from this manga.

So basically we have a game character who got exiled to the comics & can't be in games because she's a "comic character" while at the same time a manga character gets promoted to the games & can stay because she's seen as a game character.

Oh, & Sticks the Badger from Sonic Boom is in the new Olympics game hanging with the main canon cast now & rumored to be in SA3. But God forbid any of them SatAMs/Archies get any recognition from Daddy Sega even after surviving for more than 20 years.
