{Spoiler}{Spoiler}{Spoiler}No, the Legacy Virus that Xander Rice began lacing the corn syrup with did. Do you not realize how logical that is? It's a common ingredient in so many foods and drinks. Between this and some of your other critiques, I'm wondering if you actually paid attention to the film.
Just got back from the theater; I loved it. Actually got misty-eyed which I did not expect. Jackman, Stewart and Keen were all outstanding. My main issue was the incongruity between this film and Days of Future Past (in terms of both tone and continuity), but after looking into it Hugh Jackman has said that the film is basically meant to be a stand-alone, which I think makes the all-around edginess feel a lot more palatable than it would otherwise. Frankly I think that's the sort of thing comic book movies could afford to do more often.
That's the way I look at it. It's a possible future for the X-Men, not the only future.

I thought it was good. My expectations were low until I read the reviews and honestly I wish I had not read the reviews because I think it over elevated my expectations. So yeah it was good but I think I would have appreciated it more it I had not read the reviews. Plus I think it dragged a bit towards the end.

Bingo. Everyone's trying to make it fit with all the other films and there's no point: As someone (I forget who) pointed out in another thread way, way back there, it's the most X-Men thing ever to have several timelines and alternate futures all going all at once. In the books, DOFP, Cable and Bishop aren't all part of the same future; same thing here. Logan and movie DOFP aren't linear and the former may have not even run on the same timeline as any of the movies we've seen so far.

They should make that more clear. Movies are supposed to be better than that, especially since we're using the same actors here.

I read the headline like "no way, come on!" but then I read it and, while I don't think it ripped it off, the parallels are a pretty strong coincidence. Fun read, thanks for sharing.

I figured it was quite obvious that this was a possible future for the X-men movies, and not the actual future. It's a stand-alone movie and it works quite well.
Some are saying it's the best superhero movie of the past however many years. Don't really agree with that but, it's still really good.

I didn't see Children of Men. But seeing the main character as somewhat of a loner in a dystopian future who ultimately empathizes with the plight of others and takes part in their fight reminded me of The Road Warrior and Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome.
I had this dumb idea, so now you have to look at it.

This was great stuff, probably my favorite X-Men related movie since the 2000 film. Patrick Stewart I thought was especially good as Xavier, and that's not to sell Jackman short either.
I left the theater bawling. Just hits me in a lot of personal places. Dealing with elderly family suffering from dementia/dying, being an older me where doing things is harder, loving Someone you place ahead of you..
I absolutely loved that film. I don't want to rank it with Superhero Movies. I am so, very grateful for Hugh Jackmam.

I think I may have to watch Logan again to form a better opinion about it. Right now, all I can say is that I liked the movie, I really liked Laura/X 23, but I wish the movie was cut tighter. Plus, I think being hungry as shit colored my opinion of the movie. My brother, on the other hand, has all the opinions on the movie.
Saw it today. I saw most viewings got the Deadpool teaser before the movie. Our screening didn't have that at all. Oh, and no post or mid credit scenes either - so you don't have to sit through the credits.
{Spoiler}Absolutely loved it. Seeing a scarred, limping Logan, half the time with one of his claws extending halfway and him pulling it out fully himself with a grimace, and constantly coughing was jarring. This was explained by Logan himself that the adamantium on his bones was poisoning him.
This was a Logan that had seen enough. A job as a limo driver, living with Caliban and Charles south of the border.
It actually broke me to see Charles the way he was. It was like I was watching my own grandfather on the screen.
Laura was a highlight. I could not stop laughing at her yelling at Logan in Spanish, Logan yelling back in English, Laura punching him in the nose and Logan saying "DON'T f***IN' HIT ME!".
Loved the scene where the family Logan helped invited them for dinner (with a paranoid Logan politely trying to turn them down thinking if they stayed in one place too long the Reavers would eventually find them). The dinner scene itself with Charles explaining he had a "special needs school" and Logan was a student, and Logan saying "Yeah I was kicked out a few times" with everyone at the table laughing and smiling was a nice scene. Especially seeing Laura smiling at them both too.
Xavier being killed was gutwrenching. X-24 was a surprise. I legit thought Logan killed him when I saw the claws stab Charles' chest.
Caliban being captured to be the "tracker" of Laura was kinda sad too.
I did like how when the mutant kids found Logan they trimmed his beard to his classic look while he was sleeping/recovering and he woke to say "Hey! That's not funny!".
Logan's death itself was a heartbreaker too. Impaled on a jagged tree stump, smiling, looking at Laura and saying "So this is what that feels like". It got me more when Laura said "Daddy". That little girl is such a good actor.
I really want an X-23 spin off now, with the same little girl in the role.
Interesting that they left the identities of the mutants Charles killed in Westchester ambiguous. Probably a goood thing though - if there were names then the fans of those characters would say "WHAT THE f***?".
All in all, i'm really gonna miss Hugh as Wolverine. Hell of a way for him to go out. Maybe the Wolverine can live on through Laura now. I hope so anyway. I'd hate for that little girl's superb performance to go to waste.
