Saw it today was pretty good. If I had to ranked it would put it behind DOFP People weren't kidding when they said it's rough when Logan died.
Also What did Charles say to him right before he died I couldn't make it out {Spoiler}He told "Logan" that he remembered what happened a year ago and that he knew that Logan had hid it from him. He then said, "I think I finally understand you."

Well, realistically he couldn't talk with his lungs punctured as well as his heart, but I thought he tried to say something about Laura. Maybe I got that impression based on their cuts between Charles/Logan and Laura/X-24.

{Spoiler}{Spoiler}He told "Logan" that he remembered what happened a year ago and that he knew that Logan had hid it from him. He then said, "I think I finally understand you." I think he's referring to after that, the very last words he mumbles while in the back of the truck. I couldn't make it out either. I did make out him saying something about the boat Logan was looking to buy. Saw it last night, a nice pre-blizzard movie night...and it basically redeemed the entire movie superhero genre for me. Not that everything being made lately was bad or anything, I was just bored by it, but man, I really enjoyed this. Was some stuff telegraphed? Absolutely, but a good flick can take telegraphed material and still make it deliver an emotional impact on you, and I felt it in this one. {Spoiler}Also appreciated things like Charles going out on "I think I know how you feel" concerning him coming to understand Logan's pain, then Logan going out on "so THIS is how it feels...", coming to understand, at long last, the importance of family. And while X-24 felt like a bit of a villain cop out at first, there's no ignoring what they were going for: Logan, contemplating suicide for years now, is killed by, well, himself. I was also SO glad there wasn't a post-credits scene, would've just wrecked things; I still stood around for a few minutes to listen to Johnny Cash, though. I honestly could not care any less about how "connected" any of these movies are to one another; as a standalone movie, this is one of my absolute favorites of all time within the genre, basically this alongside The Dark Knight. Really hope filmmakers learn from what they did here, not so we can get a bunch of mimic knockoffs, but so people like, say, Zach Snyder can learn that dark and bleak DO work in superhero movies, but it has to be earned, has to suit the narrative, and can't be shoehorned in (e.g. I didn't mind the way Snyder handled it in Man of Steel, but started losing patience with it by the middle of Batman/Superman). The genre needed a breath of fresh air, and while there have been dark superhero movies before, it's a jolt to get one with such a mainstream character, and a much-needed one. Anyway, all that's left now for Jackman is, of course, {Spoiler}to make "Deadpool vs. Fat Wolverine". Seriously, Hugh, just one last one, and you won't have to do a single sit-up to prepare for it!

Laura vs. Hit Girl. Who wins? Laura. Hit Girl's better trained, but she's just a baseline human. The second Laura really gets pissed off, Hit Girl's done.

Bingo. Everyone's trying to make it fit with all the other films and there's no point: As someone (I forget who) pointed out in another thread way, way back there, it's the most X-Men thing ever to have several timelines and alternate futures all going all at once. In the books, DOFP, Cable and Bishop aren't all part of the same future; same thing here. Logan and movie DOFP aren't linear and the former may have not even run on the same timeline as any of the movies we've seen so far. They should make that more clear. Movies are supposed to be better than that, especially since we're using the same actors here. The entire premise of one of the previous movies was about this concept.
