AWESOME pic there the rock however will be laying the smackdown on the academy ..... honestly this wasn't a bloody beauty contest or a song contest, and whoever made this happen should be dipped in gold and made into a lifesize oscar statue but having the award title at the bottom AND in the smallest possible fontsize may have been the problem ..... i'll see the highlights later tonight oh and i could have voted for moonlight in the poll too!

Hooray for Jungle Book.
However, Captain America had a better hair cut than Joker and his picture isn't even nominated. Disagree with Suicide Squad.

Matt Damon has a good "WTF" face too.
The LA Screwjob. They rang the bell, played La La Land's music, and Price Waterhouse Cooper got the hell out of there in a waiting car.

I read about La La Land-what was the point of the film with that kind of ending? Ok, I am going to discuss the ending, spoilers ahead. {Spoiler}The last part of the film takes place five years after they've broken up. She goes into a bar where he is playing and we get an extended dream sequence where we see what would have happened if everything went perfect (this is an homage to classic musical and Best Picture winner, An American in Paris). After the sequence ends they look at each other and smile. Not sure what you mean by what was the point of that ending. Not all relationships have to have a happy ending and it's human nature to imagine how things would have turned out if only you'd done things slightly different.

I've seen this floating around Twitter, but what if Warren Beatty were handed an envelope other than Best Actress and Dunaway read something other than "La La Land"? What if they accidentally gave Beatty the backup envelope to Best Makeup and Hairstyling? Would Dunaway still have read "Suicide Squad" as Best Picture? Or would they both have realized the gaffe and said, "Wait, we've got the wrong card here"?

Yeah, the ending of La La Land actually made the movie for me. {Spoiler}I guess I romanticize the fact that people can come into your life (even if for a short while) and impact it forever. Those two needed each other at that moment in their lives. Without each other, they don't achieve their dreams. For them to end up together would've been too "ah, come on!" for me. Love the "What could have been" epilogue. Shows you that it could've worked out but, as DiBiase is Good said, that's human nature. Very bittersweet ending and more impactful. Besides as a tribute to old Hollywood, the Casablanca-ish ending is quite fitting.

Or it was all rigged. You can't tell me that the same group of voters would vote a movie to win Best Actor, Best Actress, & Best Director, but they don't think it's best picture. That doesn't make any sense. In 1972 The Musical Cabaret won 8 Oscars including Director,Actress and Supporting Actor and lost to the Godfather which only won 3 Oscars same as Moonlight. Amazingly the Best Picture/Best Director split has happened 4 times in the last 5 years despite it historically being a 1-2 times a decade occurance.

Despite last night's Best Picture chaos being seemingly all anyone is talking about today, the 2017 Academy Awards were the lowest-rated Oscars program since 2008, with 32.9 million viewers, a decline of 1.5 million from last year, 4.3 million from 2015, and 10.8 million from 2014.

The fact that we learned that the People's Eyebrow is Rock's genuine shocked reaction makes this all worth it. Is that Busy Phillips in the front row? How'd she pull that off? Friends with Michelle Williams. Indeed. She's been Michelle's date for every awards show since forever, it seems. Best friends since Dawson's Creek.
