Speaking of stand-up comedy, didnt Jeff Foxworthy start off as a rather vulgar comedian before he developed the whole "you might be a redneck" routine (though even that was gradual, even his first album has some sexual stuff like the "Single People have the best stories" routine). Related, Larry the Cable Guy before he developed that character

On the topic of Ariel Winter, and kind of going off track here, have there been any 90s child/teen actresses who DIDN'T end up as screw-ups, maniacs, etc. etc.? A lot of people point to Hilary Duff as someone who managed to not have a breakdown. Melissa Joan Hart seems to be sane.

Lots of comedians change once they get big. Rosie O'Donnell was filthy as f***. And now she isn't. Tim Allen-The year before Home Improvement started he has a special on Showtime. It was fairly dirty. The next year he did another special and it was fairly family friendly. Larry the Cable Guy-He kept bombing on stage. Then created the Larry character and blew up.

I think the most notably exception to the rule is Bob Saget, who actually went filthier after Full House.

I saw a standup special Rosie did a couple of years ago and while I wouldn't call it anything outright obscene, it certainly wasn't clean either.
Though a lot of the special was dedicated to what she went through with her heart attack.

Graham Linehan. Once the genius writer of comedies such as Father Ted and The IT Crowd. Now a twitter bully and insufferable transphobic godshite. As bitterly disappointing as this one was, the episode "The Speech" of The IT Crowd was a pretty huge hint in retrospect.

Aside from puberty, what has Ariel done to cause people to get upset? Legit asking.

Nicolas Cage was actually a respected actor and not a punchline who would star in anything. To be fair Cage has always been a large ham. That and all those easy paycheck movies are hardly surprising when you consider he went bankrupt and still has a fair amount of debut to pay off.

Dennis Miller, although something tells me that he was always the way he was, he just put on a good act and people misread him.

Mark/Marcie Free of King Kobra as well. Lead singer of Life Of Agony as well. Laura Jane Grace of Against Me! too. It's kinda amazing going back to New Wave and listening to the lyrics of "The Ocean" ( If I could have chosen, I would have been born a woman, My mother once told me she would have named me Laura), and realizing how that song took on so much more weight when she came out as trans because I realized...she did get to choose. It chokes me up every time I think about it.

Hell, half the "punchlines" come from what is arguably the highest point in Cage's career.

For me, it's her trashy taste in fashion. And then she gets upset at people shaming her She spins it as though she's being "body shamed". Personally I have no problem with her curvy figure. But when she insists on wearing unflattering jean shorts that look two sizes too small with her ass cheeks hanging out, she's fair game for criticism IMO.

Depends on the criticism really. Guarantee there's way less comments talkin about whatever clothes being unflattering and way more implications that somehow reflects on her character.

If the thread topic was "which celebrities changed..... and had a direct impact or influence on your life?" I would agree.
