11 weeks before the show so they're going to have to find an replacement host quickly, my suggestions for replacement host: Jimmy Kimmel (I'd tolerate one more year of Kimmel as host of the oscars) Edge and Christian (It's not gonna happen but the Oscars should need a reek of awesomeness) Ryan Seacrest The Rock (he hosted an Wrestlemania, but Rock hosting the Oscars? Very little chance) Any other suggestions for an replacement host? Ryan Reynolds. As Deadpool. As Pikachu.

I think Hart stepped down, the Academy didn't rescind the invitation or ask him to back down. He did it himself. And he's apologized. Several times. He said he's not going to keep doing it, which is totally understandable. Why not bring back the weird year Hugh Jackman hosted? Or the James Franco trainwreck. I thought Seth Macfarlane was fine. Dude is funny, he can sing. Isn't that what they had with Billy Crystal?

Hey, watch this. I'm sorry. It's not that goddamn hard. Zero sympathy. or with even a little more thought. I was younger and stupider, that is not an excuse it was inappropriate then and it is inappropriate now... I'm sorry to anyone that was offended by my remarks.

Seth sang that "We Saw Your Boobs" song last time, so he's out.

I'd be fine with either Robert Blake or Jan Michael Vincent.

Yeah, and I remember people saying, "Charlize Theron has horrified!" And then she made a movie with him. People were in on it. And Rock played a gay guy in Be Cool at least. And again, Hart has said what everybody in here has said. He apologized, he said he was younger and dumber. He said some were just attempts to be funny. He's owned it, but people just want him to do and say more and more and more. He shouldn't have to apologize every thirty seconds. Just hand the f***ing things out like a graduation. "Best Actor goes to Bradley Cooper for A Star is Born. Please come up and collect your Oscar." Whoever wins Best Picture gets to give a long speech. There, problem solved.

Wait, has Rock got skeletons in his closet I didn't hear about? Just like, every promo he's ever made in WWE, especially during the Cena feud. I consider vulgar comments made while portraying a character on a scripted entertainment show to be a pretty thin argument against him, especially in a feud where he was caught reading lines written on his arm. While kayfabe likes to pretend otherwise, Dwayne Johnson and The Rock are not one and the same.

Yeah, they pulled reaction shots or something for unrelated things. Fun fact: Gilbert Gottfried is the reason it's now broadcast on a delay, he so offended people when he was on stage presenting an award.

I was younger and stupider, that is not an excuse it was inappropriate then and it is inappropriate now... I'm sorry to anyone that was offended by my remarks. Also, unless there's one where he doesn't, every apology I've seen that he's done has had some form of "people are looking to be offended"/"people were less sensitive back then" When you've said you'll do everything you can to stop your son being gay because you're afraid of it, I mean LITERAL homophobia, that's not really looking for stuff to be offended by, that's you saying horrible, horrible things. Stay away from the caveats and also don't come out and say you had the offer of losing the job or apologising, and you chose not to apologise. I can't know the man's heart, maybe he has had some revelation, but it sure as hell doesn't look like it.

And yet if you go through the twitter or social media of those who make it their life goal to ruin others lives, you'll find them guilty of the same thing their accusing others

Then how about Doug Stanhope? You can find all kinds of shit on him and he doesn't care because he's perfectly content with how "famous" he is and the money he has. So, they can fling away. I saw Stanhope a few months ago. He literally admitted to doing way worse things than Louis Ck. The difference is, he's not nearly as famous as CK. So he's not as big of a "prize" for those weirdos that want to bring everyone down.

Tracy Morgan said he would pull out a knife and stab his son if he were gay. Said it on stage. He caught shit for it. He apologized.
So, hey, Kev...you want people to forget about this? Go get hit by a Wal-Mart truck. I guess that's what it takes.
Comedians say dark and offensive things. They joke about serious topics. It's not hate speech. Like South Park said, either it's all ok to joke about, or none of it is.

So Kevin Hart accepted the invitation to host the upcoming Oscars this week. And once the people who have no lives dug up old homophobic tweets, he has decided to step down. Is this life now? Nobody can be successful unless they've been Mother Teresa their entire lives? Kevin has put out several explanations and apologies, but as of now, he is backing out. I'm not the biggest fan, but this is getting ridiculous. I suspect this will be locked soon but yeah.

At this rate, I think only the Second Coming would be an acceptable host.
Or Bobby Eaton.

I've said it before and I'll say it again: Twitter is straight-up evil. Not in the sense that it has some secret evil agenda, but in the sense that it exacerbates the worst in people. It destroys any attempt at respectful, constructive discourse and replaces it with blind hatred expressed through meaningless catchphrases. How anyone can waste days desperately combing through years of a stranger's social media posts in order to find a single example they can take out of context and use as an excuse to destroy their characters and harass not only them, but their friends and family as well, and then still claim to represent "basic human decency", is beyond reason. And the fact that Twitter as a company does nothing to stop this is nauseating.
The people pulling this shit are lucky that the rest of us aren't as morally bankrupt, or they'd be in for one Hell of a payback. Stuff like this is why, while I roll my eyes at people who go "this is the SJW agenda!!" when people ask for measures to stop bigotry and abuse (and sometimes just when someone argue that all groups should have the same basic rights), I also can't agree with people saying there's no such thing as oversensitive people who think they are humanity's moral compass, and that anything that deviates even the slightest bit from their personal values is intolerable. You HAVE to keep a sense of perspective and keep context and change in mind. This is the very image of radicalized thought, where the alleged cause is just an excuse to destroy anything that differs from you.
