So Kevin Hart accepted the invitation to host the upcoming Oscars this week. And once the people who have no lives dug up old homophobic tweets, he has decided to step down.
Is this life now? Nobody can be successful unless they've been Mother Teresa their entire lives?
Kevin has put out several explanations and apologies, but as of now, he is backing out. I'm not the biggest fan, but this is getting ridiculous.

I officially hate this shit. Like most of us, at some point has said something, mean, stupid and/or insensitive.
I'mma say exactly what I said when the whole James Gunn mess went down
'Human growth isn't just a hormone.'

Exactly, my god...would any of us be able to get a job and make a living if somebody dug up shit we said when we were teenagers or in our early 20s?
Jesus Christ, Hart even said most of those were jokes. Attempting to be funny, since, you know...he's a f***ing comedian.
This needs to stop. Who the hell goes, "Uh oh. Somebody's doing pretty well, I better go through ten years of tweets to hurt them."?
They even did this to Kaitlyn Collins, a CNN reporter for tweets she made in college. You're telling me, a 19 year old in Alabama said something insensitive? Get out, that's crazy talk!

Yeah, it's unfortunate how this kind of thing works. Let's scrub through the life of every single person on Earth and blacklist everyone who made any unsavory comment. That'll teach 'em to be a human being who makes mistakes!

Those slurs were also a lot more, well, I wouldn't say appropriate because they never were. But homophobic slurs (even the worst ones like "f**") weren't as big a deal back then, which is a credit to how much LGBTQ+ awareness have advanced in the last decade, even if they still have a long way to go. But compared to now, even 10 years ago was like night and day in terms of support for the community even among progressive circles.
Hart was also likely a product of his upbringing. African-American communities were INCREDIBLY homophobic, whether due to religious beliefs or that whole macho attitude that's especially harmful to gay men.

You know I really don't know why anyone would want the oscars job nowadays. You have to walk a fine line. You have to bring ratings but you can't be outrageous for offending people.

Man, I'll just be honest.
I've said some horrible things when I was younger relating to a plethora of different specifications and honestly back then it was hard to escape. I'm a black man from the South who grew up on the entertainment of the 80s, 90s, 00s, hip-hop, wrestling, videogames, rock, sitcoms, comedy, all of that's in my DNA. Back then for most kids it was inescapable. However once I hit a certain age I realized what I was saying was wrong and I changed and that wasn't until my early to mid-20s. That was a little before most of the topics started to change in the US relating to that. I've changed, stopped saying what I was saying, feel different about said things and I take back what I said.
As long as people change, give a heartfelt apology and keep it moving and proving they've changed then hey that's what they can do.
This Kevin Hart thing is messed up because yeah I know people will say "but Kevin was 30 years old" and that stuff but you gotta understand that the culture as a whole wasn't as evolved to where it is today, things were different back then and the things we considered normal were normal then. Jay-Z and TI of all people were saying things that if you said today? You'd be "canceled" and that was those two. Comedians were everywhere not backing down, sitcoms made jokes about things and the same with movies. Today's a different story.
Hart said he's apologized multiple times in the past and he wasn't doing it again. Later on he did it again and I gotta say this, I don't know what else he has to say or if people even follow him but he's clearly a different man than he used to be but if he says he's apologized and means it then hey that's it.
Overall the shit's f***ed up as a whole. More people need to understand that people can change. To go along with that you can't keep telling someone to apologize if they've done it numerous times. Hogan is a different story as his actions and words contradicted what he was saying. Hart though? Nah, nah man.
It's wild. I wouldn't take that job either, keep it pushing, keep on doing you and keep on improving your brand because at the end of the day people can grow and we need to acknowledge growth when growth happens. Nobody is the same as they were 10 years ago and if you are you're probably in a casket.

You can never apologize enough for the perpetually offended and the permanently aggrieved.

You can never apologize enough for the perpetually offended and the permanently aggrieved. Apparently he refused to apologize at first and then acquiesced like an hour later. Something changed his mind.

Then how about Doug Stanhope? You can find all kinds of shit on him and he doesn't care because he's perfectly content with how "famous" he is and the money he has. So, they can fling away.

Why isn't Kimmel doing it again? I thought he was pretty harmless, worked for ABC, and did his show right across the street.
Go back to my high school years 1997-2001. This was the height of the Attitude Era, so treating people with respect wasn't that cool. But even though I was a kid, and said things (honestly, usually to just go with the crowd) I would jump in somebody's ass for being racist or homophobic today.
But I also went to a really small school. Where most graduating classes had upwards of 300 kids, my class had less than 70. So everybody grew up together and knew each other. Equal number of black and white kids. And if somebody said, "So-and-so is gay." the most common response was, "So?"

11 weeks before the show so they're going to have to find an replacement host quickly, my suggestions for replacement host: Jimmy Kimmel (I'd tolerate one more year of Kimmel as host of the oscars) Edge and Christian (It's not gonna happen but the Oscars should need a reek of awesomeness) Ryan Seacrest The Rock (he hosted an Wrestlemania, but Rock hosting the Oscars? Very little chance) Any other suggestions for an replacement host?
