Despite last night’s great ending, I’m already feeling as if it has run its course. The crowd doesn’t know half the field unless they go back to the same well of surprises and the match has a lot of dead spots, and idk if it was the novelty of it last year, but this year the crowd was burnt out and bored until Becky, and the men’s rumble was embarassingly rushed. It’s not the girls fault, and I do feel somewhat guilty typing this but unless time management and card structure improves, I don’t think it’s worth it.

I wouldn't blame the dead crowd on the women's Rumble. They were dead for AJ and Bryan. They just wanted to see Becky because she's over like rover.

Mostly I just think it was poorly structured. They backloaded it with all of the big names leaving the beginning a total jobber-fest. No one who really mattered came into the field until Charlotte and she was #13. The lack of legend cameos didn't really help, that at least gave some extra people to respond to last year.
I feel like by next year the problems shouldn't be quite as present because the women's side of things is definitely growing and a lot of them are still finding their footing, and having tag titles should do a lot to help with that since it'll allow for more room to establish some of them at once. Ditto with the rebuilding that NXT's been needing, as more women step into the forefront there it'll give you more to work with in next year's Rumble.
That said I don't know who on earth decided to put so much early spotlight on Lacey Evans because she was freaking awful.

I'm not sure we watched the same Women's Rumble.
The one I watched had the crowd popping for the majority of the women, had pretty decent action throughout, and had a pretty great ending.
The crowd killer was that boring-ass match AJ and Bryan put on. What a disappointment.

There was also a lot of stalling. Not many eliminations until the second half

The crowd killer was that boring-ass match AJ and Bryan put on. What a disappointment. I disagree about AJ/Bryan (that would have worked more earlier and swap the tag title match) but yeah, the Rumble was fun for the most part. WAY better structured than last year’s. Like, the thing about surprises for me is this; they make sense when you don’t have a deep woman’s roster. Last year, they signed Mia Yim, Chelsea Green, Toni Storm, Charlie Morgan, Nina Samuels, Isla Dawn and others. None of those people were in the Rumble. WWE’s at a point where they should be promoting their own brand and what they have instead of just going for nostalgia pops with people who aren’t going to be there next week. Shayna and Bianca weren’t in the Rumble and they were in the Women’s title match. Same with the Men’s. Sure, nostalgia is great but when you have people like Matt Riddle, Keith Lee, Ricochet, Donovan Dijak, Punishment Martinez and potentially soon a bunch of others like ACH and the like, if you have an opportunity to showcase your own brand to get people invested, you absolutely should take it.

They already did the past stars/legends surprises at last years rumble. This year was about showcasing the future of the WWE on a big stage and that was more refreshing to watch IMO. Besides I though a lot of them did good out there

The problem with a women's Rumble is that 70 minutes is a lot of time to devote to something that really isn't that relevant or necessary. Ronda basically said "Hey, Sasha...want a title shot?" Women's belts just aren't meaningful enough to warrant an entire Rumble match. That show last night was exhausting at 5 hours for the main PPV and they really needed to cut something down or just all together. We didn't need 13 minutes for the Miz/Shane thing...7 would be fine. Bryan/AJ was twice as long as needed for an Eric Rowan run in finish. Given the jobber nature of a lot of the women in that Rumble just make it 1 minute intervals or cut it to 20 women or just something. Because the novelty isn't there now.

Like I said in the Royal Rumble thread, if the Women’s Rumble match had a flaw, it was the lack of real big name stars until the ending portion of the match.
However, this match was my introduction to several women in the match and I eagerly look forward to seeing what they can do in the future.

I personally thought the women’s rumble was booked to perfection. From showcasing newer talents abilities, to having overarching stories like Natalya and Charlotte’s feud with the riott Squad and getting getting comeuppance on the weak links, it potentially set up Kairi/Io for the tag team division, it had Becky, the clear fan favorite, storm the ring and gave Charlotte the fight of her life once again before picking up the win.
It was a damn good rumble imo. Both were, but the women’s topped the men’s.

In a few years, there will be a strong field of competitors in the womens' division that will allow them to put on a banger from start to finish, but that's the nature of things. There was much less floor napping this year than last, even if Nattie did pretty much nothing in her ironwoman role--doubly so compared to Ember who had two fewer minutes and way more activity--but there's definitely progress being made and stuff is happening. They should have made the opening stronger so that the weaker entrants could file in slowly and it wouldn't mean as little in the early goings, but at the same time you had several standbys who could have done that tied up in title matches earlier on the card and not in any shape for that.
A womens' version of big marquee events for named PPVs is the new norm and that's not going anywhere. But as long as there's measurable progress and growth made in improving and ironing out the concept, I'm fine with the prospect of two rumbles every year. Things can only get better as they nail down the execution, it's hardly a heatless doom and gloom spot that can never improve.

They should just have it at Revolution. Two rumbles is too many anyways.

Like, as a personal preference, two Rumbles is cool because I always want to see another when one ends and as Rumbles go, the women’s one was essentially one of the better but not as memorable ones from the late 10s. Which compared to the “We’re booking this like a early 00s Diva Battle Royale except with proper talent” weirdness at times of last year, that’s an achievement.

I skipped 90 percent of the ppv. I heard nothing good about the this match from those who actually watched it.

I disagree. This did feel like a growing pains kind of year but I think by this point next year the roster will be deep enough that pretty much everyone in it will be someone known. The match did start slow but picked up towards the end. I thought it was very encouraging that Bayley and Ember both got pretty good pops and looked good during the match, especially considering how they have normally been booked on the main roster.
I really liked that there were no nostalgia acts and they instead used the spots to get some exposure for the NXT girls. Io, Xia, Kacy, and Rhea were very impressive.

Which compared to the “We’re booking this like a early 00s Diva Battle Royale except with proper talent” weirdness at times of last year, that’s an achievement. There's also just strategically a lot of benefit to be had in doing two Rumbles. They got the winners right this year and last as far as going with over talents the fans wanted to see in those positions where they had been struggling for several years prior. But obviously that won't always be the case. Heels are going to win, office favorites the fans aren't so hot on are going to win. Putting two in there and moving them around to main event as needed just opens up a lot of versatility in teling different endgame stories and not risking jumping onto an audience reaction hand grenade.
