Like, why would Charlotte want to just randomly forget about all the hell Becky put her through? It’d make no sense in storyline terms for her just brush off Becky once again taking something that, in her mind, is rightfully hers, brush off all the pot shots Ronda has given her, and brush off her wrestlemania main event just to go after Asuka. I get why most want to see the big bad Charlotte take the L to avenge Asukas loss last year, but it just doesn’t make any sense right now. Plus, Asuka already got her win back by defeating both her and Becky at TLC for the belt. What’s done is done. Asuka didn't get her win back. Ronda won that match. Asuka was just the lucky one who wasn't targetted by Ronda. Like, why would Charlotte want to just randomly forget about all the hell Becky put her through? Charlotte's character isn't going to randomly forget all Becky's done to her especially when Charlotte and Becky are even going back and forth on Twitter daily. Becky isn't going to forget all that Charlotte's done to her especially (along with what I just said) given that Charlotte's been trying to cripple her recently. Ronda's not going to forgive Becky for what she's done and as for Charlotte, Ronda straight up said the TLC ladder push wasn't revenge, it was a warning to them. All 3 of these women are not done with each other by any means and that's based on their entire characters.
As for Asuka, man, putting Charlotte against Asuka for WM because people want Asuka to get a win is the most shoehorning WM thing you can do for Charlotte. For all of that "Charlotte is being thrown into the match if she's in it" comments it makes way less sense to put her against Asuka. That's not looking at their characters nor is it looking at what makes sense from the developing stories. Right now Charlotte has way more beef with Becky and Ronda compared to Asuka. Asuka would be a downgrade for her.
I don't say this much but WWE's actually done a great job in finding a way to make this triple threat work from a story standpoint. I give them props for it because it makes sense.
One would think Asuka having the Smackdown women's belt would be a great reason for Charlotte to go after her. She's spent the past six months worming her way into matches for that belt and now that it's not on Becky it's suddenly a "downgrade"?
If anything Asuka going after Charlotte makes great sense since every encounter they've had the past few months has been Charlotte dismissing her because she beat her once a year ago. That's plenty of reason for Asuka to teach her a lesson. Charlotte may have beef with Becky but Asuka is the one she's been crapping on so it makes sense for Asuka to have beef with her and thus the Asuka/Charlotte 2.
I get that Charlotte still has shit going on with Becky and to a lesser extent Ronda (which Charlotte started at Survivor Series) but I don't think that necessarily means she should be part of this match. I suspect she will be but I hardly think its necessary.

I suspect she will be but I hardly think its necessary. It's a downgrade to go after Asuka compared to Becky and Ronda simply because according to the pecking order Ronda and Becky are bigger stars than Asuka is and their program is the hottest program in the company right now. Charlotte throwing herself in there against 2 women she already has beef with makes sense since Charlotte wants the spotlight. Asuka is SDL women's champion but she's having a boring reign right now. It's similar to AJ's boring title run last year except she's actually got no opponents. Charlotte's character isn't one to go after someone lower on the totem pole, Asuka's just that right now.
It makes no sense for Charlotte, the supreme "I've been dominating the division for years", Flair to go after someone who isn't seen as the best in this company and Asuka isn't seen as the best from a program standpoint. Putting Charlotte against Asuka would essentially be Charlotte saying "well, lemme go after someone lesser rather than the 2 women who are not only higher but the 2 women I already have problems with."
We'll get another Charlotte/Asuka feud post-WM because Asuka will need a good post-WM feud. Becky will be on Raw, Ronda will be gone and at that point Charlotte's free to go after Asuka because then it'll make sense, then she'll be done with her Becky and Ronda stuff and then Charlotte can say "I main evented WM, you didn't Asuka, I deserve to be champion" and then that's how it'll happen. It'll also be a different story than the regular "hey let's have a rematch just to have a rematch", it'll be Charlotte saying that regardless of what happened last year she's still better than Asuka. They just won't be facing each other at WM because Charlotte's out to compete against the best in the division and that's Becky and Ronda. Asuka's just not it right now.

I can see what you're saying and getting at. The thing is I think it might start more with Charlotte using your reasoning and saying it's beneath her which has Asuka as the aggressor because she's tired of Charlotte belittling her. Blindside Charlotte a few times and it becomes an actual feud as opposed to rematch for the sake of it. Asuka likely feels she has something to prove against Charlotte and the fact that Charlotte is ignoring her would just fuel that. Right now of all the people for Asuka to have a problem with on the Smackdown roster, Charlotte would be it. She's been the most antagonistic and dismissive.
This would be less about what Charlotte wants and more about what Asuka the Champion wants storywise which makes sense since the champ should have more pull (even if Charlotte is still higher than her in the pecking order).

That could work but a key thing that's not being mentioned is the other set of women on SDL. They're going to be doing something at WM and given how they usually set matches up what'll likely happen is that they'll confront Asuka and then Asuka will say "I won't take one of you, I'll take all of you on" and then that'll set up a multi-woman WM match in which Asuka wins and remains a champion at WM and that's what Asuka would say against Charlotte in their post-WM feud. Charlotte can say "I faced 2 women at WM" and Asuka can say "I faced 6+ and won my match" and then that'll be in her favor. Either way in order for your scenario to work you'd have to have Asuka be the aggressor and given how she's being portrayed, she's just not looked at as that right now. I actually don't know any feud where heel Charlotte wasn't the aggressor, it's usually the other way around. Also it makes Asuka look lesser having her being the one to confront Charlotte than the other way around. She shouldn't have to force someone to be her opponent, she should have people come to her directly.

I think the other point with this is that Charlotte's character is in part defined on obsessed with being in the WM main event with Ronda/Becky, and I imagine her trajectory is she's going to get crazier and more desperate (and probably more violent) if she doesn't get in in as soon as she wants. It doesn't make sense to have her suddenly settling for Asuka instead, and while I like Asuka, her match is going to be treated as a relative afterthought because the Raw match will be the biggest women's match in wrestling history. .
And in fairness, Becky's talk about fearing nobody and beating everybody is kinda odd with Asuka beating her clean just being entirely ignored by WWE as if they're hoping fans forget.

You know who could be holding her down instead?
Your women's champion, by being a dominant, violent prick. That works too.
Like I know I posted in support of the Steph match at Summerslam, but... that's in seven months, for f***'s sake.

Charlotte Reigns doesn't belong in this match and I hope it backfires in WWE's face as they try to Roman her into every single big moment.

Well, she's in. Officially right now as it stands in the storyline, it's Rousey/Flair, Lynch out of the match completely, but I'm 99% certain that it changes back to at least the triple threat.

No Charlotte, no can do! Right? Right?
Charlotte Reigns needs to go away.

Reading these comments confirms my suspicion about this entire thing, namely that this was one too many times of shoehorning Charlotte into a Becky title match on PPV. It's meant to get her a big heel reaction but tonight it really just seemed like the crowd didn't react at all. They were just like "Ugh." That my friends is X-Pac heat.
