Who's going to actually be writing their shows?

I don't see how a person can be a wrestling fan and not at least be curious. We're getting wrestling back on TNT! It's literally the biggest thing since WCW was shut down.

I'm kind of confused here: for those saying it'll be too sports-like or whatever, these guys ran All In as their proof of concept and booked a hardcore match that included Donkey Kong-esque barrel jumping and culminated with Joey Ryan rising from the dead and being led to the ring by Dick Druids. I feel like people hating have yet to see anything to give them a reason to. And don’t know quite why to expect.

I want them to have success, but, businessman Cody Rhodes seems a bit of a stretch. He was probably at his most popular in WWE, as dashing/grotesque. I know that gimmick had a shelf life, and he knows more than I ever will, about the business, but I'm just not interested in him, as a businessman.

I've detailed elsewhere so I'll be brief. Not a fan of any of the elite or their style of presentation, or much of their work. Not a fan of Omega at all. Jericho has reached "please go away" status every time I see or hear him speak. Overgrown fratboy behaviour is anathema to me. His recent account of mouthing off about Steph (regardless of how you feel about Steph the performer or person, she was completely in the right) struck me as massively entitled. Tony Khan being given presented as some anti-Vince in some quarters is bothersome. I can't support him with what he's doing at Fulham. I think he's a lot closer to Vince than some realise. I've been proven very wrong so far but I think there's still a risk of the Codybucks over inflating their bubble and killing their own boom. On this one I defer to them as incredibly canny businessmen. There is a hint of hype backlash from me too. THAT ALL SAID....I hope they're successful. If it lights a fire under WWE then that's good and more places to work is great for wrestlers. It's got fans excited and engaged too which can only be a positive. I've just had to accept it's not a promotion for me. That....wasn't brief. Apologies. What did Jericho say about Stephanie?

He's got a lot of his father in him when it comes to a mind for DIS BIZNESS. And while it wasn't his original idea, he got everyone's asses in gear to get the first All In going and that show was a pretty big success.

I can respect him, for that.

There was an incident on a house show where someone threw a glowstick at Jericho. He cut a promo and got the crown launching them into the ring, a bloody stupid thing to do and a dangerous precedent to set for a crowd. Backstage Johnny Ace told him Steph was fuming and wanted to fine him. He told Ace that he worked for Vince, not Steph and she could stick the fine. Just a horrible attitude to exhibit both in the ring and then in response to understandable upset from management. A younger, less established member of the roster would be gone for a reaction like that.

It's symptomatic (to me anyway) of the reasons I've not been a fan of Chris Jericho out of the ring for a while now is all. I mentioned it as it was the latest thing that just made me shake my head over the guy, it's not a key factor, just an indicator.

To be fair, he was angry because the glowsticks were banned because management DID know they were dangerous but then Tri and HBK convinced them to allow them (because I assume they got money from selling them) and so when he inevitably got one thrown at him thought screw it and leaned in to the reaction.

Which speaks badly of Hunter/HBK for sure but doesn't really excuse him. Anyhow that wasn't really the focus of the threaday. My other thought was what's to stop AEW talent saying "I work for Tony Khan" if he has to give them some direction as an exec. He has no high ground.

Jericho isn't an exec so I don't think that's an issue but to be honest even though it's a pretty obnoxious way to conduct yourself it's still true that the boss has the final say. If anything it's more likely Jericho would be the one yelling at Omega or the Bucks that he works for Khan and not them haha.

Well, it's not like WWE where Vince McMahon is so involved in the company, they don't work for Tony Khan. The Elite do, they're the boss, hell, let him try to go to Khan, he's got way bigger things to care about than some uppity wrestler. It's like disobeying your manager at Amazon and saying "I work for Jeff Bezos" and seeing how far that gets you.

After some initial hype I did stop caring a little, but I'm interested again after hearing about their TV deal. Being in the UK I'm also wondering just what the ITV will bring. Weekly TV or just PPV and pre shows?
I can understand why some people are sick of it already, and part of me thinks they can't live up to the hype, but I'm going to give them a chance.

I wonder if the people who think Cody is generic have watched ANY wrestling, even WWE, since like 2007 because he quickly outgrew that whole CAWdy phase. In fact it has been ages since I heard the nickname CAWdy.
