I keep seeing the word respect in this thread. To me respect is a two way street and is something that is earned. Just because someone’s been doing something a long time doesn’t mean they get my respect if they’re an asshole who’s too lazy to carry their own shit and buy their own drugs (Because let’s face it alcohol is a f***ing drug - easily the most deadly and harmful one too) and disrespects me by asking me to do it for them. Two kinds of respect: 1) "I want your respect" = "I want to be treated like I'm your equal" 2) "I want your respect" = "I want you to treat me like I'm your boss/superior" One is right, one is wrong. Problem is that respect means different things to different people, in different situations, and it keeps changing.

Man, of all the times to claim a black person has no merit to their claims of racial insensitivity and firmly shut down the idea with added implication he's intentionally lying to make the company look bad, this is a real yikes of a week for that. Where is the f***ing racial insensitivity in being tasked to do the EXACT SAME THING as your peers. Jesus f***ing Christ. I'm not talking about anything else in the company, I'm talking about THIS SPECIFIC rookie hauling shit thing. We're at "POC says there was racial insensitivity, shut up and don't question anything". Okay. That's trash. No, it's that you can listen. You can open your ears and your mind and consider the experiences someone else has lived and how they might not see it the same way. Because he literally never said he was being asked to do this because he's black and people keep banging on it but you aren't getting it. He saw it as something nobody should do and added as an aside it additionally made him further uncomfortable due to things he's lived through. You aren't considering that there might be something there and trying to understand, you're calling him a liar and countering arguments neither he nor anyone in this thread ever made. The problem is that you're questioning things that aren't there and not actually engaging with what's being said. Maybe the real trash is the bad arguments we made along the way.

"Carry my bags, rookie" is just stupid. That's not Earning Your Stripes, so to speak, that's grown-ass men making other grown-ass men do their grunt work due to something as arbitrary and meaningless as tenure. I don't care if they had to do it when they were rookies, be an adult and carry your own bags. You really want to set an example for the younger talent? Act like a professional, carry your own bags, and make the locker room a better place instead of some stupid fraternity based on a worked fight.
Booker T accidentally injured Steve Austin on basically his first night in the company. Bruce Prichard told him to carry Steve's bags to make up for it. Booker T said "I'm not doing that", so Rush sure isn't the first to view a black man carrying a white man's bags as something that makes them uncomfortable. On top of that, Mark Henry speaks for the African American community about as much as I speak for the Caucasian one.

And I think that's where we end this discussion for now. I have a lot of thoughts on it but not where I can talk at the moment.
