I wouldn't get the point of male dancers on the stage, because that eye candy is in the ring. Also, your seedy underground fighting league isn't exactly drawing an audience demanding male eye candy anyway. That being said, I do think Jessamyn and Shafir should get to beat the snot out of some PC extras at some point. Honestly imagine there were 3 male dancers there. It would look like an underground Gay nightclub. Not that there's anything wrong with that but how hilariously out of place would that look when there's a bunch of fiery tough guys beating each other up in the ring? Its not sexist or "homophobic" or whatever to not have male dancers. It's just not suited to the sleazy edgy setup they were looking to capture. Hey, I can't think of a more thematically-appropriate locale for pro wrestling than an underground gay nightclub.

I don't think this is a zero-sum game where a boob happens and it's like, "Well, shut everything down, feminism is over."
That said, this is still ridiculous. I don't really see the point anymore than I did in the ECW reboot with the Extreme Expose.

If they want to do Fight Club, go at it. I don't see any of this resonating, but whatever. Thing is though, Fight Club never had any sexy dancers, and they're equally unnecessary here. If WWE want to keep up the notion that they're dedicated to putting women on the same pedestal as the men, then actually do it the whole way, give them a role instead of using these girls as nothing more than eye candy props. Sure, cliche places like this (mainly on TV and movies) may hire women for random dancing in the background or whatever, but those places aren't trying to sell themselves as a "family-friendly entertainment" wrestling show either. But if you still want to argue real world legitimacy, look up what actual underground fight clubs look like, it's mainly a bunch of dudes surrounding a cage/ring/circle/etc. in a small dingy room. It isn't The Man Show.

Ugh I bet you’re one of those woke people that think Trader Joe’s is racist for having “Trader Jose’s”. Like others have said, people are tired of this overt virtue signaling. WWE has long proven with every ounce of their power that the women’s division is on par with the men’s division, these dancers take nothing away from that.

Honestly I find stuff where the tone is "I'm a real wrestler unlike those other SLUTS" like a billion times worse than anything going on here. Strippers proudly existing doesn't devalue women in any way.
It's not like when TNA straight up put them in cages like f***ing zoo animals, lmfao

The fact she won the Golden Snowcone for Promo Of The Year that year over a field that included CM Punk, Paul Heyman and even DUSTY RHODES... Goes to show how much goodwill you could get at the time just by tearing down The Bella Twins.

I have to agree that this is virtue signaling, and a huge reach. The WWE is run by scumbags, they’ll end up doing something legitimately offensive soon enough. This is not the hill anyone should die on. There was nothing sexist about that segment, and I think even women would agree with that.

Personally, looking at it doesn’t seem as much of a “Man, they’re treating women like crap” as much as go “Really? Doesn’t seem that needed”. Like, there are things we can level with WWE (and AEW) of their treatment of their women’s division overall. Token dancers that probably don’t need to be there isn’t really one of them.

If Mandy was one of the dancers? Uh, f*** yeah, that's definitely needed. Oh, absolutely. If they undid everything booking wise just to have her be a dancer for Shane’a Mid Life Crisis Kink Room then absolutely call that the f*** out.

Oh man, now I just started thinking about that one AJ Lee promo. I f***ing hated that promo. Quoting this, because A) it ties into the topic and B) I watched it again since the first time it aired. Oh, man. This promo is out of the Stone Ages. I was rather surprised by how...ancient it felt. That’s the best word I can describe it with. Her delivery is great, but this was so ancient. The sparkly belt, she’s all “I’m not like the other girls”. It showed how much there’s been a sea change just in six or seven years. You cut this promo now, the other wrestlers will look at you like you’re a Betamax. Like I said, I can take or leave dancing girls, but wow things are different now.

By calling the entire division talentless, she completely buried the division and by association, herself. Theres a huge difference between a heel saying they're better and above everyone and saying that everyone is a joke and has no business in the ring

The thing I remember about the AJ promo is that her character at the time was a lot more promiscuous and fanservicey than the Bellas were.
I mean that's fine if you're intentionally doing a hypocritical heel thing, but I don't think that's what they were going for.
