Probably not on anyone's radar but I am fond of Warrior's opening insult for the Summerslam 90 promo in a rare moment of coherence -
Warrior - WHAT DO RICK RUDE AND BOBBY HEENAN HAVE IN COMMON WITH THE LIBERTY BELL?! Mean Gene - I don't know. What? Warrior- one is cracked and the other is a ding-dong. AHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!! Mean Gene - Hahahaha Warrior- HAHA AAARGHHH!!!
---
Edit: Now I'm sad. I miss those days and everyone involved is dead.

I know it was in the worst thread but I’ll throw in Triple H’s “skinny fat ass” to CM Punk. I still use it on people to this day, just to see the puzzled looks on their faces. There’s nothing like Terra Ryzing random people...

I don't know if this counts necessarily as an insult, but every time Bret would say Stone Cold's name with a tone of just utter disdain, and I think he called him a hyena. In the same vein, every time early Stone Cold talked about the "dubya dubya eff superstars" with that sneer, it was gold.

Everything he was doing in the ring and especially on promos was damn entertaining.

I really liked when Bailey told Lacey Evans to put on her mom jeans and go home.

Heel Rock in 1998 berating Chyna while JR showed a genuine level of disgust is one of my favorites.
"Get her on her knees where she belongs". "You look good on your knees Chyna, almost looks like a natural position" "There is no way, and The Rock means no way, he would ever kiss a piece of trash like you".
Absolutely great douchebag heel work by young Rock. Made people want to see him get his ass kicked.

Imagine somebody saying something like that nowadays Sponsors and soccer moms would get triggered, say its sexist and that the company needs to be cancelled. I said it in another thread: Nobody is allowed to be a true heel anymore. It never goes beyond "I hate this good guy" or "I want his title".

It would be sexist tho That doesn't make you a "true heel". There are diff ways to get heat and during that time when everything was at its raunchiest, you were allowed to say shit you wouldn't be able so otherwise

The funny thing is, the way Rock talked to Chyna in that segment is the way he talked to everyone. He didn't discriminate. He was going to marginalize and talk down to anyone who tried to mess with him. It just happened to be a woman in that case, and he was a heel at a time when society was way more lenient, so he got away with more. I guess I've never taken wrestling seriously enough to get offended by something (and Vince has done a lot of crazy stuff), so I feel like as long as the story/narrative makes sense and it's not offensive just for the sake of being offensive, then I never saw the issue. Rock was a heel, JR the lead commentator was repulsed by it, babyface makes the save. Wrestling 101. But yeah, something like that would never fly today.

So why would he care if he was sexist? Its a story remember. People play murderers and rapists in other TV shows and nobody bat's an eyelid. I guess it always just annoyed me how wrestling has to "play by the rules" when it comes to telling stories. If it was up to me, I would even have women fighting the men if the story was right. But of course people would find a problem with a man hitting a woman too. Despite the fact that it happens in shows like Prison Break, Game of Thrones, Breaking Bad, The Walking Dead....

I want it to be seen as a regular TV show with proper in depth storylines. It will never happen with Vince in charge but that's my take on it.

Mind you, I'm going from memory, so it might not be 100% accurate...
Corbin, to Miz:"You can't compare to what I've done."
Miz:"....what HAVE you done?"
It was simple and it had truth. Corbin had no response. Perfect.

If I'm running a wrestling company, I ain't putting on a sexist or racist heel, sorry. Not so much out of "playing by the rules", but because it doesn't draw in new fans. It's bad business. Always has been. 99.9% of wrestling fans watching don't want to think about that s***. Plus the whole "you girlies can't fight" heel is way too 90's and no one would buy into it. I'm all for intergender wrestling being a normal thing too, but "genuine heat, I hate this wrestler IRL so much" is worthless fool's gold that doesn't make money. The fans have to like both the babyface *and* the heel. I know that sounds contradictory, but it's true. Anyway, I still laugh at Cena calling Kurt a "freakin' ham sandwich".

I think the issue (in WWE) is more that bad guys often don't have a decent protagonist to oppose them. That, & bad guys so often come out as the victors in their stories, which means they rarely get comeuppance for their actions. Villains need to be able to do villanous things, sure. But if you're going to be sexist/racist/evil then you need to ensure those crimes are shown to be punished. Otherwise it just leaves the audience feeling sour.

You are forgetting the PTC going after the company, they tried to get sponsors pulled etc. So people wanting things "cancelled" is not a new thing. I think we hear about things more now because of the rise of things like social media.

AT LEAST 90%, that is. But hey, there is no cancel culture as we stated over in Off-Topic. (not that I don't think a lot of Attitude Era angles don't age well. I do think the PG rating and more have stifled a lot, to say the least)
