I'd like to politely request people not use 'triggered' that way. I'm happy to explain some of the things that being 'triggered' actually involves for folks that aren't familiar via PM if you like. It's pretty unpleasant. And that word becoming a meme has made these people's lives more difficult. Props to Cutler for giving as few f***s about being polite about JR as JR is seemingly giving about being polite about him. I meant no ill will using the term, I know the word is used for very unpleasent connotations, I was more using it in conjuncture with how the response was to Cutler's tweet, because that in comparison to here is like night and day.

I feel like Jim Ross hates that he is having to do commentary for "this type" of wrestling. Everyone notices how he sounds miserable and how he doesn't want to be there, but I can imagine he is getting paid great and Jim seems like the type of dude that money is a big factor. I wish some of the higher ups in AEW would get over the fact that "HEY WE HAVE JIM ROSS!!!" and see how terrible he is in 2020 and how it appears he really doesn't even like their product.

Well, Cutler got pulled from the match (along with Wardlow). Guess he’ll have to jump into a waiting pile another day.

Sidebar, JR sounded really good tonight. He was enthusiastic, he was putting people over, he was overall, doing a good job commentating
I wouldn't be shocked if someone gave him a talking to. Some people said he wouldn't listen to Khan if he did but Khan's signing his paychecks so he very well might.

Jim Ross says something controversial, then the next week is sharp and on point. Then 4 weeks go by and it happens again.

JR seemed really quiet when the wrestlers were doing dives, did anyone notice it?

I wonder who it was, Top Flight? Private Party? F*** sake, why is stuff like this being humored? Even if it isn’t JR, you can’t try and gatekeep stuff like this without having people learn from it. If you’re just going to yell at them, you’re basically doing minor steps to be like the competition rather than counter it.

I wonder who it was, Top Flight? Private Party? This happened with Lucha Bros right at the beginning of Dynamite, and it accomplished nothing It will accomplish nothing again, yelling at talent never accomplishes anything. I also dont see how it coulda been Top Flight since they're so new or Private Party since they have only had a couple matches recently. In any case, whoever is taking JR's side in this whole thing, the intentions may be on the right track, but demeaning the talent for it isn't going to solve any issues it's gonna make tensions worse. Tell them advice in a constructive way, why is that so hard for some vets to do?

I mean
I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that you should never yell at anyone who is your employee, dammit
But this is stupid shit to yell at them about. Wrestlers do the spots, your job is to not film it so that it looks as stupid as it does. The amateurish shit that AEW are still missing is f***ing shocking this deep into their time producing live shows.

Didn’t he literally call Brandon Cutler out by name or was I reading something different?

Shouldn't the blame for the "big dives into a group of people" spots be blamed on the people planning out and supervising the matches? Don't blame the wrestlers. Blame the agents for using it so often or not putting their foot down about using it less.

He got a point about the Refs though, aside from Aubrey, the rest of the refs arent exactly great tbh.

One thing I hate about AEW refs is their ability to completely ignore blatant cheating or screwy shit. Like, I understand the “we’re not gonna have DQs! We want every match to have clean finishes!” Thing, cause WWE uses DQs it waaaaay too often as “get out of booking a finish” card and that is really annoying. But that doesn’t mean DQ finishes are inherently a bad thing. You just have to straddle that line, but I think AEW goes too far in the other direction that it makes their refs look stupid.

The spot where everyone crowds together looks dumb, but it protects wrestlers, so his "I'm trying to help people from being injured" schtick is BS.
I love the more stiff style as well, and more realistic, but I also loved Eddie Guerrero, Terry Gordy and Shinya Hashimoto, and I feel if they were in a climate where it was ok to not make everything so life and death, some of those amazing people would be around today.
His "no one confronted me backstage" just shows how much respect people have for him, and his further comments shows how his respect for the people who made the company just isn't in the same place.
