I'm not sure Matt Hardy's ever been more boring than he is right now. The character's a dull cliche that feels like a complete relic, it's impossible to take him seriously as a threat because he hasn't won a match of consequence since the Sammy Guevara feud and Darby made his entire moveset look like complete trash, and his stable's worthless because they entirely exist to lose to people and their characters don't really click together at all.

What was that gimmick he was trying to do in the early 2010s in TNA and such? The Cold as Ice thing? I think that's WAY worse than this. I do think the HFO is not long for this world though. It feels like Lio Rush is quite literally gonna usurp it from him.

At least it was kind of fascinating how bad that was, his current act is just dull.

But I do agree I think it needs to change some things up. I wonder if Matt will go back to the Broken gimmick eventually. It works much better with fans obviously.

The women’s division is still weak.

I don’t really see anything wrong with having a solid low/mid card heel stable that is mostly there to put over low/mid card faces.
HFO fit that role perfectly fine IMO.

The women’s division is still weak. It's better than it was this time last year, but still not what it should or could be. Though it's also sad that it's becoming one of the better ones in the US by default at this point only because of how much WWE's has nosedived.
Right now, Impact is tops and it isn't even close. Though at least ROH and NWA are improving theirs. Especially ROH.

The AEW Women's Division has made a vast improvement from last year but still needs to continue to make improvements. I'm hoping by next year we can say "This is in a much better position than last year" again. They're getting the talent and a second title to make this work and have had a few big main event matches. It's been a grind but it's at least showing promise and progress even if it's been slower than some want.

Honestly as much as people talk about the AEW women's division improving I'm really not seeing how it has at all. More talent certainly but they still seemingly go out of their way to not give them a spotlight and it's very rare that not all roads lead back to putting Britt over at the expense of everyone else.
Even with introducing the new belt they pretty much immediately made it look second rate having her go, "Oh, well, it's nice that everyone else has a silver medal compared to my real belt." Completely useless to include beyond just showing she's the one person they care about.

Like when time comes for her to go for the TBS Title she will absolutely put it over because she's either going after it or the champion as the most prestigious belt in the company. No one takes what Britt as a delusional heel says seriously or at least they aren't supposed to. If it was someone in an actual position of power in the company I'd get it... but it's been pretty obvious Britt is all about her and she just wanted everyone away from her so she can just reign on the mountain. And idk what to say about people who think it hasn't improved. This summer the women's division was a disaster. The Tag Team Tournament was bare bones as it gets. Yes they can still look to improve... but they've very clearly improved from last year and this includes three main event matches on Dynamite and Rampage respectfully and much better in ring quality. They need more time and they need more focus. But there have been a few Non-Britt centered storylines already popping up across the brand in TayJay vs Ford Bunny, Swole vs Diamante on DARK, Jade vs Rosa, and Deeb vs Shida... all of which have had nothing to do with Britt Baker whatsoever. That's what they need to keep doing and I hope they do.

I wish HFO vs. Dark Order was a Dark exclusive feud cause every time they face off on Dynamite it's like a piss break that I haven't drank enough fluid to piss my way through. So many bald heads.

But people say she is burying everyone when she does it, like they were saying in The Raw thread tonight. To me, this is the same. To me I don't think either one is burying anyone or any title but at the same time it's not a good look. Character wise Britt is AEW's Charlotte. Maybe that's why I like Britt so much. I don't think it was a burial of the title but it wasn't a good look and I can absolutely understand if someone's opinion is that she buried the title.

I don’t know what got all we’re smoking but this HFO stuff as been trash since the beginning. It’s like three tag teams just kinda thrown together with Hardy where he’s a big enough name and they need to give him something to do. My son and I have been playing this “would you sign him game?” he came in my room when they were coming out during the eight man. “What about those guys?” “That crazy old looking dude BUTCHER, just him, he’s also in a metal band” “Yeah he looks badass all those other guys look like deebs”

Hence why this is the unpopular opinion thread I'm sure there are still plenty who love HFO Matt. The point is that they're thrown together to me. They aren't supposed to look the same. Matt's mooching off of them in different ways Private Party: Young and Ignorant Butcher and Blade: Hired Assassins. A role they've played with multiple people Hybrid 2: The fall guys. Using them as meat shields a lot of the time and using a guise that they're in for big things Jora: The sheer want of a job period I truly think that in the end the HFO will fragment at the very least. It's not a coincidence to me that Lio Rush has come in with a very similar snake oil salesman gimmick.

Having more women who can cut promos has helped the Women's division so much. I love the Joshi contingent, Shida is one of my favourites and has been since day one, but the lack of people who can bring the fire on the mic has been a killer. It made it so much harder to get feuds working.

They shouldve hired Darius Lockhart over Bobby Fish. Also I wish the Nyla vs Jade vs Rosa was on Dynamite instead of Rampage. More eyes watch Dynamite than Rampage and those who don't watch Rampage are usually lost.

He unfortunately got injured during an Elevation match with QT Marshall and the match got scrapped entirely from the episode. It was said to be very even back and forth too. It sucks. I also get the notion about Rampage but they clearly want Rampage to be special and unique or Punk wouldn't be exclusively wrestling on it. At least the DVR numbers it gets puts it on actual pace with Dynamite viewership in the end.
