So are these the kind of rumbles we’re going to have now that Pat Patterson is gone?

The poor planning would reflect the sheer amount of nothing happening during both matches, especially for the men. It's like they went in with almost no ideas.

Idk who it was either Knoxville or Bunny threw a gawd damn roaring elbow that would make Masato Tanaka sit up and take notice AND THIS WAS FROM A GAWD DAMN non full time celebrity. I felt nothing but shame for this f***ing roster when that happened I was like..holy shit they just laid their shit in better than 90% of this gawd damn roster unreal. Knoxville threw a stiff forearm on AJ and then AJ did these baby tap spin around slaps in response lol AJ laid the clothesline in

And the few stories that they did tease, virtually none of them went anywhere. The only one that got a payoff was Sami vs. Johnny Knoxville.

No wonder the Rumbles were a boring mess. How can anyone expect them to gel and flow when the planning was so messy and the talents had to constantly change what they were doing.

Ain't no way Io isn't considering her future when they left her off the Rumble as a f***ing alternate to Kelly Kelly and Summer Rae... I can't imagine someone who is considered one of the best wrestlers on the planet by many pundits being thrilled about that.

Damian Priest and KO are in a US title feud. Let’s not have them interact at all in the Rumble.
All the teases of the Mysterio’s, never interact.
They’re doing this story with Vince and Theory, and Shane is in the match, why not do something there? Nope.
No real furthering of the RKO-bro stuff.
The finish being VERY rushed and lacking tension.
Etc.
The women’s match was better in this regard, but even it had it’s fair share of missed opportunities and bad choices.

I don't doubt it at all and she would be in all her right to start thinking about an exit strategy. I have said this previously but they are absoloutley gonna keep feeding her false promises in order to make sure she doesn't leave because much like Finn...they see no value in these extrodinary talents but they know enough that they cannot afford to lose them to their chief rival. But losing Io comes with much much larger implications because Stardom has made it very known about wanting her back and if she were to leave for AEW that would presumeably open the door to Stardom and AEW relationship which from what is known is not on the best of terms right now but Io would very likely change that right quick.

Everything I’ve heard about Io makes me think that even if she leaves WWE, she’d try and get picked up by another US promotion.

She wont even have to try...the very SECOND it ever happens she leaves or gets released every single company is blowing up her phone because she is a game changer level talent. And again it very likely opens the bridge to a working relationship with Stardom.

Dakota Kai was seemingly pretty bummed on social media last night as well. Going by everything, I'm assuming Dakota was told they wouldn't need her for the Rumble on Thursday, thus her message on her Discord, she goes to work the Smackdown dark match with Io the next day, where both her & Io were probably told that they would be needed for the Rumble, they go there only to do nothing but watch backstage as roughly half of the Women's Rumble consisted of part-timers and NXT got completely snubbed. That would bum anyone out.

That would bum anyone out. Nope. Dakota was likely already back home. Supposedly she did a Twitch stream last night. And her streaming probably explains why she won't ever get a chance. If she wants to stream, go ahead. But she's blatantly breaking WWE's "No Twitch/Livestream" mandate, and while they may not fire her, they will make sure she doesn't progress at all in the company. But she's made it clear she wants to stream more than anything else right now, so I wouldn't be shocked if she doesn't sign a new deal or is in the next round of cuts. Impact or AEW would probably pick her up. Dave also mentioned the only NXT woman backstage at the Rumble was Io Shirai. I doubt the announced women really bother her too much. But getting shoved off by Cameron or Sarah Logan (neither of whom were announced) has to really suck. And it's why I think WWE is going to have to move heaven and earth to get her to stay. Not that I want her to. But they'll try.

Dakota will be on the next round of budget cuts. WWE have completely shit the bed with her, she's been in NXT for 5 years and doesn't even have a title reign to show for it and hasn't been called to Raw or SD. She'd be a good pickup for either AEW or Impact

God do I feel bad for Io.
I know it's been said many times, but how do you bench arguably the best women's wrestler on the planet in this one?
I could wave my arm at the entire Rumble full of "legends" that she could have replaced.
Like...I'm sorry but CAMERON needed that spot?!

Besides it's not like Dakota is the only person breaking WWE's 3rd Party ban considering GiGi Dolin still is using her CAMEO to send messages to fans and make money on the side, which is a contrast to people like Big E and Alexa Bliss, who were forced to stop.

The Bellas are in the Hall of Fame and have always been MASSIVELY over with live crowds, despite this board’s bizarre obsession with ignoring that fact. I think it was less about The Bella's being over, and more "They are less than part timers, Nikki has well documented neck issues, and they just dominated the Rumble and tossed out a bunch of girls who are there every week", which to be fair isn't a Bellas problem, it's a "WWE cares only for the past" problem They threw out one full timer in Liv. Their other two eliminations were Logan and Alicia.
