Yeah. Not in a judgmental way but for his own good and the long-run, he absolutely should. Sounds like fat-shaming no matter how it's worded. Anyone who knows what Keith went through, would understand a little extra covid weight. Hell, I could stand to lose weight myself. I just don't see the point of Meltzer and smarks shitting on wrestlers' physical conditions. Would you say the same about Doudrop? No one is shitting on anyone. You’re projecting mate.

I just don't see the point of Meltzer and smarks shitting on wrestlers' physical conditions. Because they're scantily clad athletes. You are free to disagree, but if you are an athlete on tv people will pay attention to your physique.

Dude looked like a flying beer keg since before he joined WWE.
I'm really not seeing any appreciable difference, and honestly it's kind of gross that this is being brought up.
If he wants to drop some LB's for aesthetics or cardio reasons, good for him, but he certainly shouldn't do it because Meltz is dropping hot takes.

He looks the same to me he did when tagging with Shane Taylor several years ago. He’s always had the gut where you can tell there’s a lot of muscle under it

I got Covid at the beginning of this year (had a good track record prior to this, but Omicron is no joke). To say that I lost a step getting back into my workout routine would be an understatement. I'm STILL hacking a cough every once in a while, and compared to me Lee was nearly killed by the after-effects. Yeah, I could also see he seemed a little less agile and coordinated as he was prior, but I guarantee that just like every other guy on that roster, he's going to have a nice light work schedule that will work with him so he can get his conditioning back up to and beyond where he was before the WWE (and Covid) beat it out of him.

He went back to Wichita Falls and gorged on EL Chico, Gene’s Tasty Burger, The Branding Iron, and the Circle M Bakery.
Or maybe that was me.

If it doesn't effect your in ring work, I couldn't care less how you look in ring, Chris Hero is a standout example If Keith does in fact still wanna trim down a bit and it helps his in ring ability and cardio, then by all means. If he performs the same way he always has and continues to do his thing? It won't be as big a priority and he can just keep on keeping on. The more he gets reps and shakes off ring rust, the better he's gonna be regardless.

Meltzer's original quote was overblown. I moved on once I realized that.

I don’t really think it’s that he’s gained weight or whatever.
His new gear was just way tight so he had a bit of that Genie coming out of a lamp thing going on

Being fat but built well with muscles is one thing Chris Hero's bothered me because he really had no muscles,he had a dad body going on. Of course its not the end all but it does affect a little

Being blunt, we attribute strict body standards to just Vince but the reality is it’s become so ingrained in the fan base as a whole, it’s kinda scary. There’s no real way to phrase this in a manner that isn’t classless when you consider the situation and it feels just as nasty from Meltzer as it would from the random internet troll. Very true. I tried to get a guy I worked with into TNA when Joe was on top. He would watch highlights and would be impressed but could never buy into Joe. All because of the body. Even when Daniel Bryans was insanely popular another guy I worked with made comments on too many guys smaller than him. Vinces type of wrestling star had become a standard.

And Meltz needs to clean his f***ing room, so what? People have reasons for following their bad instincts sometimes. All will be well in due time.

If he's happy and healthy, I don't care all that much if he's not shredded. Let the body guys have their thing and Keith lee have his.

Well yeah, obviously.
Covid hit him really hard. When he came back after, he looked bad. Like I said in the WWE thread, it wasnt just booking that made him look bad, it was the after effects of his health problems.
But, whether he rushed back or WWE got him to come back too fast, he likely should have been given time to get healthy again if he can rather than just released - but when you have so many people under contract no one gets any time to do anything. You get one shot these days, then you get replaced (unless you're 7feet plus, then they'll wait until they have a 7feet plus replacement for you first)

Wrestling is a visual medium. You can like it or not, but how you look absolutely matters. As for Lee specifically? Yeah, he looked every bit of the 348 he was announced at, and I'd personally prefer him to get down to like 300 if he can. He's always been a big dude and always will be, but it definitely wouldn't hurt him to cut down. At some point he's going to have to bring the goods for a 15-minute or longer match.
Dave Meltzer is a writer. The state of his room is relevant only inasmuch as it affects his writing, which is...probably not much. The comparison between his office and Lee's weight has absolutely no basis.

I guess it’s an age thing but as someone who grew up in the Hulkamania days, I actually love seeing a big ol’ boy in the ring. Would these folks be clutching their pearls at the mere sight of King Kong Bundy, Earthquake or Vader?
If Lee needs/wants to drop weight for health reasons, then that’s a good idea (though entirely up to him). If someone thinks it’s “not a good look”, get the f*** on out of here.

1.) It's a little different now, knowing that all 3 of those guys died relatively young.
2.) Vader in particular didn't have that similar of a look to Keith. It's like the difference between 1992 WCW Vader and 1996-97 Vader who absolutely had put on weight to his detriment.
