Star VS The Forces of Evil.
I want to say The Legend of Korra but apparently that's a hot take for some.

I'm walking into WHOOSH territory, but they each only had one season. Want an anti-drug PSA? We could have had Square Pegs Season 2 had cast members not gotten high on set. That was teh joke. Odds of F&G second season being as good are so low. Always heard it was low ratings and high cost plus the drug use that got Square Pegs canned. It's one I barely saw when it originally aired. But then what USA reran it often. And now feels like every Dollar General has a copy of the dvd set for 5 bucks. I thought so, hence the whoosh comment. Actually I heard the opposite about SP. The ratings were fine, it was the drug issue that canned it. It's a shame, it's a great 80s high school time capsule/exaggeration. Anne Beatts made it, so it's no surprise. And Marshall and Slash are the 80s Lenny and Squiggy, I'll argue in favor of that any time.

Going to make a prediction rather than reference a past show so I could be wrong (it has been known to happen rarely).
Squid Game: season 2 isn’t likely until late 2024 (Netflix tactic of getting lapsed subscribers to renew plus they are milking the reality show(s) at the moment) so it’ll lose a lot of the novelty factor. As well as that they killed off every character apart from the lead, it’ll be like Alien 3 where you tune out as long as you work out that most of the guys you loved before aren’t going to be in this one.

I'd personally probably say Star Vs peeked in season 2 and Korra probably in season 3 (though seasons 1 and 3 are way better than 2 and 4 are in either case), but either way both definitely ended on limper notes than they started, especially Star. Pokemon? After indigo and the OG 151, I couldn't keep up and moved on from the fad culture it achieved in the late 90's/early 2000's. I'd say Pokemon a lot more kind of ebbs and flows. I've only really seen the Kanto and Johto stuff beyond isolated episodes, but a lot of people seem to have really enjoyed the Kalos and Alola arcs. And really even with Hoenn and Sinnoh not really seeming to be anything great they're generally seen as better than Johto and especially Unova.

Also, similar shows that turn from a closed setting into some big sprawling conspiracy tend to lose their focus and what made people like them. Westworld, Hunger Games, Prison Break, one way or another, they turn into generic "take down the conspiracy" stories that end up being unsatisfying in the end. When it was the games, the setting, the mystery that got people into them.

And I just learned that SP used the "Make like a tree and get outta here" thing 2 years before Back To The Future. I have this suspicion it's older than that, though.
