I wouldn’t hate it, but I would feel bad for Cody in that instance. Because he’d be like “well, shit. Again?” What’s the follow up for that, Codylander chasing World Champion Sami “for my father or else”? Why does Cody need to beat Roman for his father? Dusty was never held down by any member of the Anoi'a family. Cody's "destiny" is not to win the title from Roman, but to win the title, like he's a babyface Alberto Del Rio. Basically his story is that he has to win the WWE title because no-one else in his family has, and that's it? 90% of the roster can say the same thing. That and the end game can still be Cody getting strapped up because even if Sami wins at Mania…he’s gonna need a list of opponents. Rematch with Roman KO with the friends/foes going at it Jey Uso in a sign of respect Eventually against Cody with Cody going heel and taking Sami out to finally get the belt he feels he truly deserves and was cheated out of.

No more heel champions for at least a year. Please, for the love of god.

Personally my ideal would be Cody, or whoever beats Roman, holds the belt until SummerSlam or so then trades the belt back and forth with Balor for a bit. Judgment Day's due for some gold and after how excruciatingly long this reign's been it'd be nice to get in some shorter ones for awhile.

There's two belts and a list of folk overdue some main event love.
But look, Sami just dominated 50 minutes of RAW. On the go home show to the 3rd biggest show of the year. (My favourite by far but yeah, 2rd after Mania and Summerslam).
Even if he's in the tag match with Main Event Jey Uso and Kevin Owens at Mania, he's in the main event now. He's going to win the big one, probably this year.
(Caveat - unless someone worse than Vince buys the WWE of course.)

Also, Cody is ridiculously over. Not just last year when he debuted.
Last week when they announced he was in the Rumble, that crowd was dead nearly all night. They announce Cody in the Rumble? Roar from the crowd.
This isn't Batista in 2014. It's two incredibly popular wrestlers on the verge of the main event. WWE haven't had this since, well, since Cena and Batista in early 2005.

Could split it up and do Cody vs. someone for a vacant/new Raw title at Mania and Sami vs. Roman. Crown two new champions.

I thought a sensible way to split the belts without Reigns losing was a TLC where he and, say, Rollins, both pulled down one title at the same time. WWE haven't even had a ladder match, let alone this scenario!

In this scenario, Balor’s reign should just be up until December or January 2024. Shouldn’t have yet another long heel title run for a while after Roman loses.

What are they gonna do get rid of the wwe title that has been a part of the company’s history for 60 years? Or the Universal title that has been used since 2016 which Roman added prestige by holding the title for that f***ing long? Just split the titles after mania

To those devoutly wanting Sami Vs Roman: What about KO & the Usos? Cause you’d be robbing them of one hell of a WM moment (and payday perhaps if they headline). Who does KO have to face at WM? Or the Usos? The Banger Bros?

He'll, have Owens be Sami's corner man to counteract The Bloodline.

So instead of KO and Sami, real life best friends and brothers in arms for god knows how many years, teaming together to win the tag titles, finally in perfect reconciliation against two men who’ve they’ve both built an incredible story with for the last few months… KO is put in a managerial/background position.

After all of this, if the endgame isn't Sami vs Roman, with Sami winning, what was even the point? Sami does everything to please Roman, and his reward is to...fight Roman's cousins. That doesn't make sense.

That doesn't make sense. Like you said, they have 9 weeks. They can put anyone in the tag title slots with enough effort. And, like, the feud wasn’t ever about Owens, he was there because they literally have nobody else free to feud with Roman right now. It’s not that much of a thing to have him doing something else or being involved in another way, he’ll still get the damn payday.

That doesn't make sense. The story has not been all about Roman and Sami though. He wants to be part of the family, and has had just as much if not more on-screen interaction and storyline progression with Jey as he has with Roman. You can get 2 big matches out of this instead of 1 if you do Sami/KO vs. Usos and then Roman vs. someone else (Cody, Rock or Austin). Plus, they can have Sami vs. Roman at Elimination Chamber in front of a red-hot Montreal crowd if needed to progress the story.

I'll say this, and I'll leave it be.
WWE likes to say that they make movies. Well, here's the movie.
We follow an underling of a mob boss. The underling wants to gain favor with the mob boss because he believes in what the mob boss is selling. Over the course of the film, the underling does unspeakable things to gain this favor. The mob boss gains a soft spot for the underling. Calls him family. Underling is now a member of the inner circle.
Now the twist. The underling starts to mess up, badly. Not his fault, just circumstance. Now the mob boss wants the underling taken out.
How do you end this movie? Logic says the underling takes down the mob boss in an amazing final fight. But there are those here who wants the underling to work with his best friend to take down the mob's goons, while someone who hasn't even appeared in this story takes down the mob boss.
Is that the movie you want to see?

Maybe Roman wins with Uso assistance and they put the boots to Sami after the match, prompting a KO rescue (and Cody squaring up to Roman).
