I don’t know, I think the story of “You three f***ed around with my title wins, we want to take you out for doing that to us” sounds like high stakes to me. Mostly because there’s no way for me to believe fans wouldn’t think having Sami in the tag title match would be seen as anything but a massive downgrade. If told properly, a potential Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens vs. The Usos match for the Tag Team Championships could main event night one of WrestleMania. I know a lot has been made of Sami Zayn's interactions with Roman Reigns, but the story that has been laid out so far over the past five or so months has been leading toward Sami Zayn getting betrayed by The Bloodline and calling on the one person he's truly called a friend. The Usos have elevated the Tag Team Championships to a level we haven't seen in WWE since, what, the early 90s? The belts mean something for the first time in ages, and when they are defended, it's must-see television. Sure, anything below a world championship feud could be perceived as a downgrade, but when you're in the orbit of The Bloodline, whether it's against Roman Reigns or The Usos, you're in the main event.

I can only hope that if Owens and Zayn do face the Usos at WM, they win and Owens turns on Sami immediately because he just always has to betray Sami.

This is where I'm at this year. I'm going to keep saying it until the cows come home, but there's nothing that would rise to the level of Sami and Kevin vs. The Uso's at Mania to main event night one of the show. When Daniel Bryan and Kofi had their moments, the story was about them not being good enough to be in the championship picture. That's never been what the Sami story has been about. It's been about him finding acceptance with the cool kids and abandoning others - like KO - in search of that acceptance. Sami's going to help the cool kids really do something bad to his best friend on Sunday and then he's going to find out somewhere between now and EC that they've been manipulating him the whole time, then he's going to challenge Roman for the title at EC in his hometown. When it looks like he's going to suffer the same fate, his friend comes back, forgives him and saves him from a beatdown in front of their hometown crowd. We've seen the underdog that isn't good enough for the title picture story enough in the last ten years. Why can't the story be about friendship, forgiveness and two guys together overcoming the odds? I just don't see why people NEED Sami to win the WWE Title right now when he's got the chance to do something that might elevate a division that doesn't always get the spotlight. Just my two cents.

All the titles have been elevated to a very high level. Even the U.S. title, who have revolved around Lashley, Seth and Theory is sitting pretty good. For as much fans talk about titles should matter as much as the world title, they should be willing to give it that same chance Without question the tag titles could main event Night 1 with the story they have going

I will say if they do pivot to Sami, then Cody can’t be involved with the Bloodline with Zayn both at the same time, because that definitely will either hurt Cody’s face character or force him into the Cody McGavin heel spot. They need something big for him at Mania in the meantime to keep him hot during a Sami/Roman feud.
Maybe that can be the Austin match. Just throwing stuff out.

You’d think they’d pair him up with Seth. I’d love a Cody/Cena match but who knows if they’d go that direction this fast. FWIW both Alvarez and Meltzer think It should go Sami-Roman. With Meltzer even going as far to say “even if he loses” while also stating he think he should win.

Honestly, for the back and forth we’ve had with each other about this…this is genuinely the best problem they’ve had in years. When was the last time they had two ready babyfaces that the crowd loves that you have to figure out what to do with? Especially after years of focusing on one guy who is the top guy? Not since Cena/Batista in 05, I would have thought.

Ideally Cody should go over there, and of course John will put the dude over with no complaints. Or, just out of left field, it’s Sami and Roman but Austin works his way in. Roman gets by Austin night one, winner gets Sami night two. That’s what’s fun about this storyline, there’s a bunch of different options for them to pick from that could be thrilling.

If they can get the WWE title off of Roman just run Cody/whoever for Raw's WM main event and Roman/Sami for SD's.

They planted seeds for Roman having the belts split a few weeks back when Pearce got pissy at the bloodline for taking over Raw and pretty much said he was done with their crap. If they lean into that, they can easily create a scenario where Cody can get his WWE title win and Sami can get his Roman match.
Seeing the tag titles main event would be great so I'd be cool with Sami doing double duty.
That said, Owens has enough history with Jey Uso that you could justify a singles match there. Hell you could do Banger Bros vs Solo and Jimmy for the tag titles (we just had Sami sub in on Monday). Jey already showed what he had way back at the start of Roman's reign of terror.

I’d probably book it as such:
The rumble comes down to Cody, Solo, KO, and Sami. Solo eliminates Cody. Then either KO eliminates Solo before eliminating himself to give Sami the win and as a show of love/respect for his friend or Sami dumps KO and Solo while they’re brawling near the ropes. From there build it up as Roman is happy about it because “at WrestleMania Sami will acknowledge the tribal chief by laying down for a pin” all the while getting ever more paranoid about Sami and his motivations. At Mania, Roman does a big production and tells Sami to lay down for the pin and of course Sami refuses and the match gets going. At some point the Uso’s and Solo try to run in for the save/cheap DQ only to be caught by KO, Stone Cold, and Cody/someone else. Sami wins and everyone is happy.
A bit of fantasy booking for a Thursday afternoon never hurt anyone. lol

Watching Sami's Broken Skull episode from a lil while after the Johnny Knoxville match is surreal cause he talks about possibly working with Roman or Brock like it's a lil twinkle in his eye and not his life in a few months.
Also when he smacked PAC in the face during one of their NXT promo battles, Undertaker was there and he was hyped up screaming THESE BOYS SOLD SOME f***ING TICKETS

One other thought I had is they could have Reigns go the way of Azula when she became Firelord. Finally has what she has always dreamed of and begins to see enemies and dangers everywhere, firing loyal servants and the like until she is completely alone. Reigns starting to unravel and forcing the bloodline away, resulting in a fair fight with someone where he loses could be really interesting.

I'd love to see what he could do solo as what we saw in his feud with Roman was excellent.

Changed my mind, Sami is evil. He just snuck a NOT IN MY SALAD reference in to a Ride Along episode.
