It’s been over. For me it burst sometime before Scrumgate but you could definitely argue it happened for sure after. Not just here, but squaredcircle, you saw the company get its fair share of criticism over the last year.
It’s going to fluctuate (just like any company) and AEW in particular has its rabid fans, but I think that initial honeymoon lasted for about three years.

Imo this all started when TK buried Swole on twitter, its like this incident cursed the company last year looking at the amount of bad luck they had.
I still find it weird that Tony decided to plug Rampage in that same tweet. Tony needs to turn the hype mode off when he's addressing off-camera situations, whether he's right or wrong.
With the new PR guy, you will never see Tony tweeting like that ever again and I mean stuff like the Swole tweet or dunking on Helwani(I get that Helwani deserved it but still it was a mess)

I think you can tell when it ended for Tony even... when QT, Sonjay, Tony Schiavone, Pat Buck, and Madison were put in positions of power. Yes right after that the BRawl Out happened, but that also to me was the turning point when TK admitted yes things need to change.

Don't think that's necessarily true, especially re : Twitter. A PR manager isn't 100% the same as a Social Media one, and if Tony decides he doesn't want to run something by the guy first...

AEW is the only company ever where there’s regular discussions about the discussions about the company. It’s so weird.

Keep in mind, my perspective isnt from a viewer but rather as an observer of the conversations on the internet regarding AEW. IMO, It ended when Vince initially resigned. For whatever reason, fans convinced themselves that HHH led WWE made WWE great again, and shifted the momentum of internet talk away from AEW, and thus AEW was kinda in the background where HHH was bringing guys back and creating positive buzz that WWE hasn’t had from the iwc in quite some time. Then in the midst of this, muffin gate happens, and viewership goes down (nothing to do with wwe) and momentum hasn’t swung back yet.

We literally had to make a thread for people to state what they loved about AEW to counter a lot negativity surrounding them at the time. You just can't say anything bad about AEW, unless you're talking about the women's division still not having focus, the sometimes ultrasloppy last minute builds to PPVs, MJF's material veering way too edgy, guys like Wardlow falling off big time, The Outcasts sucking, Gunn Club winning the tag belts, main event diversity, QTV and if it bogs down Hobbs, how many people aren't being properly utilized, integration and visibility of the Youtube shows in the booking, Rampage not being a meaningful watch, Dynamite being used for ROH programming, Jim Ross's commentary, Tony's treatment of Swole on twitter, Jay Lethal existing literally at all, the size of their roster and Tony's ability to manage it, Tony's struggles to pivot properly, interim champions as a concept, Mogul Affiliates before that got shut down, the handling of Eddie Kingston, the backstage climate last fall, Chris Jericho's endless stories, the fact faces still use sexism for heat, Jade's never-ending push... Really just impossible to ever criticize anything AEW does, everyone's all just hugboxes and handjobs over everything they do. Hugboxes and Handjobs sounds like a alternative indie band.

For me, even if AEW is probably still my favorite wrestling company, I think when Stu Grayson left was when the air really let out for me. Him returning has brought some of the enthusiasm back, at least.

2022 was a catastrophe of events: Cody leaving, numerous injuries and interim champions, backstage fights, Tony buying Ring of Honor and having little room to integrate it, and finally Punk’s scrum and the Brawl Out. Combined with it coinciding with Vince temporarily leaving WWE and people becoming optimistic about its product for the first time in more than a decade? It was not just the end of AEW’s honeymoon, it was AEW’s trial by fire. Things have finally calmed down and it’s apparent that AEW can weather significant storms. So yeah, AEW isn’t the hot new thing anymore. It’s the reliable second major promotion that a lot of lapsed wrestling fans have found their way back to, and we’re sticking around now that it’s clear that it’s not just TNA 2.0 or any other pretender to the secondary throne that arose after WCW collapsed. Imo this all started when TK buried Swole on twitter, its like this incident cursed the company last year looking at the amount of bad luck they had.
That's when the honeymoon period ended for me. Now I'm just numb to most of it, except the part that they have an owner that I'm begging to make one announcement, just ONE, without making weird ass faces. "Does anyone else have any questions?" - looks like he's scanning the crowd of people like the Predator "I bought Ring of Honor!"- looks like he's holding in a big shit "We're going to England!" - looks like he wants to eat your baby

Will the AEW Honeymooners ever end?
Will Eddie Kingston finally stop dressing up like Jackie Gleason?

I think it's over, but people are able to point out the flaws and still really enjoy it.

Almost every thread about AEW positivity gets killed by people like me who have significant criticisms This isn't accurate at all Idk, I don't get the people who say you can't be critical of AEW when people are nothing but critical of AEW and have been for a long time much like any wrestling company because no one can make the exact perfect wrestling company for everyone to enjoy and never will. Counterpoints and disagreements to negativity aren't going to change someone's opinion but it's a discussion forum, they're gonna happen because of what I said above. And it's not like disagreements aren't had on the other end either when you might defend something that's not unanimously agreed on as positive because you liked it, happens in other sections too obviously. The way some people post though it gets like... to a weirdly personal level? It's just odd how much AEW brings out of people, for better or not.
