Honestly, still pretty hype on Marvel, hell I'm one of the few liked Love and Thunder (which is weird since I wasn't a huge fan of Ragnarok), and this gels perfectly between show and movie to me. Will say though, it felt like the phase lasted forever with nothing like the Avengers to cap it off with. Might be the one drawback for the phases going forward since the Avengers films really felt like they were the season finale so to speak for the phases. Least to me anyways.

Seeing some of the online reaction, it appears that the Marvels might be Brie Larson'w boobs.

I don't like Brie, but it could be a fun watch.

I guess that's one reason I've been pretty much fine w the Phase, I'm cool NOT getting a huge Avengers movie at the end of every one. If you want to do slice of life stuff w the characters I'm totally cool w that. Moon Knight and Werewolf by Night could have some trimming and they'd seem totally unrelated to MCU but we're among my favorites.

Considering this year's MCU slate includes the setup for the new Thanos-level villain (maybe??), the swan song for the best-known incarnation of a beloved franchise, a tense mystery/thriller, and more on that possible-unless-Marvel-has-a-contingency-plan big new villain, I for one welcome ending the year with a fun, low-stakes, comedic girl-power romp.

Honestly, I've been pretty happy that the last phase was relatively unfocused and disconnected. I don't need literally everything to be building towards a single point.

Rewatched the trailer. Anyone notice when Fury and Monica show up at the Khan house, there's a dude tied up in front of the family in the living room? Wonder what that's about??

This looks like a lot of fun. I enjoyed the first Captain Marvel. It wasn't perfect, but then neither were any of the origin movies Marvel has put out. It was fun and good however. I think this will be enjoyable and it's nice to see Kamala move to a big screen. She's one of the better characters to come along since the turn of the century so I'm glad to see her get some shine.
I am also curious to see what happened between Captain Marvel and the Skrulls that created the animosity we saw in Spider-man: Far From Home.

Can’t wait. Ms Marvel was my jam man. Think Carol and Monica are gonna be a fun dynamic as well. Bring it on!

See I didn’t see it as animosity but as how the Skrulls see Carol. She saved them from the Kree so they hold her in high regard and they didn’t take lightly to the little kid invoking her name. Now…IF there is animosity there it should be pretty easy to explain due to Secret Invasion.

On one hand I can see that reading, however in posing as Nick Fury, he would likely be aware of Spider-man's role in defeating Thanos. That's what made me feel it was more, don't talk about her because I don't want to be reminded of her.

The trailer is full of cool "wonder what that's about" moments. For example, I didn't notice Carol is holding something behind her back in the group shot, likely a Cosmi-Rod (Kree Accuser warhammer). I'm sure the trailer will make for a few fun trailer breakdowns.

I always find it funny when folks insist that Captain Marvel made it to a billion solely off of Endgame hype. Meanwhile Ant-Man and the Wasp came out 2-3 months after Infinity War, in July (meaning summer blockbuster), stars an already established hero, and on top of all that, features a lead the internet tells me is much more popular than Brie Larson. Reminder, Ant-Man and the Wasp is the lowest grossing film in all of Phase 3, and rounds out the top (bottom?) ten lowest grossing films in the franchise. Carol was simply hyped more and people assumed she would play a much bigger part in Endgame than she ultimately did. Scott Lang is far more important to the plot of Endgame than she is, but the post-credit of Ant-Man and The Wasp didn't make that apparent, instead he's seemingly just another victim of the snap, where as Carol's mid-credits sees her return from deep space and determined to get to the bottom of what happened to her good friend Fury and most of the universe. The film ends with the promise of a big showdown with Thanos...and what happened? She orbited the garden and stood by while Thor killed Thanos, then the next we see her she has a dorky haircut asking Peter to hand her something...then she has that showdown with Thanos and it's kind of a thing for...what, two minutes? People parted with a billion dollars because they bought into someone Marvel boosted as their next Iron Man only for them to squander her. The thing is that Carol suffers from some of the same issues Superman suffers from. You absolutely can have great, engaging stories involving them but it has to be about their personal conflicts. You can do that in their feature movies (and especially in shows if you have them), but they have issues in ensemble films. Anything that truly threatens them is too much for much of the ensemble cast, so you either find a way to keep them otherwise occupied (whether it be fighting a dragon by themselves or just have them be elsewhere) or you run the risk of invalidating the rest of the cast. Of course, I didn’t watch Ms. Marvel, so I don’t know what she can handle, but I get the feeling Monica isn’t too far off in power scale to Carol, so you can have a more balanced film that way.

They already had that issue when they introduced Vision, which is what led them to keeping him sidelined and holding back in Civil War and nerfing him so hard in Infinity War. We saw in What If...? what a Vision that was unhindered was capable of.

I really enjoy Khamala Khan but it feels like she will need to carry two deadweights.
Doesnt seem something I would watch in theater, but probably online to check it out.

That’s how I felt going into the trailer, really dug Kamala but didn’t give a flying f*** about the other two, but this movie looks like it could be a lot of fun. And Carol Danvers came across waaaaay more likeable here then her previous MCU appearances
