Even his NXT work took a hot minute to develop. He started with the stupid stripper look that he came up with before they finally found something with Zelina. Is English being his second language what's holding him back? Nah. It might stop him reaching the very top of WWE or aew. However it doesn't prevent anyone getting over. Plenty manage it without ever speaking a word of English. |

Is English being his second language what's holding him back? Dragon Lee is taking off pretty fast, so it wasn't just that. Dragon Lee works a more crowd pleasing style but Andrade has credible mainevent size...Andrade is just, it's like he doesn't do anything to connect with the crowd. |

Given how many people AEW signed seemingly for no reason beyond that they were available, I don't think it's exactly unreasonable for some of them to be upset they aren't getting used more. At the same time, haven't seen Miro, Thunder Rosa, Andrade, etc. showing up on the Indies, in Mexico, in Europe, etc. If it's about getting a chance to perform and get noticed, drop your rate to something they can afford and give those places a shot. Tony doesn't want to give you the time away, then you've got some leverage. Otherwise, maybe just be stoked you're getting paid to do nothing. Thunder Rosa worked an insane schedule prior to her injury, she was out there working indies and AEW. Though I don't recall Miro doing any of that and I thought Andrade was doing some AAA. That being said, I think this whole CMLL/AAA Mexican promotion carniness is hurting AEW with how they can use some Mexican wrestlers... |

I honestly think that part of is is that Andrade just exudes douchiness. Like, he may be a perfectly nice dude irl, but he comes across like a dick. So he's always going to struggle as a face. I think that he conceivably could get very over as a heel, but that's where the language barrier becomes something of an issue. Although, honestly, I think he's been half decent in promos in his current Collision-era AEW run.
Dude's a great in-ring wrestler, too. Can't take that away from him.
