In the rematch HOLLYWOOD HULK HOGAN kicked his ass throughout the match but interference caused him to get pinned. He didn't defeat Horace until their cage match which took place after going back to his "HOLLYWOOD" image.

Dude the nWo was in full swing at that time and about to make WCW the clear #1 promotion. A loss to Jauques Rougeau (who had not been a ranked contender for years and thanks to his Mountie gimmick in the WWF hadn't been taken seriously for even longer) could have knocked it off track. That match shouldn't have happened at all or at the least Rougeau should have only gotten a DQ or CO win. Jobbing to the Mountie was a serious risk.
