On the same show they wanted us to believe that a faux leprechaun could spray paint a wall and run through it, and also that Ric Flair's 20+ career was in major jeopardy.
WWE is weird sometimes. But would we want it any other way? I think not.

I was going to make a thread on this but I'm too lazy. I thought it was dumb but I don't think it's that gooker worthy. I still think that Trump vs Rosie is the gooker winner. Everything is a Gooker Winner. Unless Jericho does it. Or Santino.

It was dumb but harmless. I chuckled a bit.

There's a thread in the WrestleCrap section I know. To throw in my 2 cents anyway, it's not as if Hornswoggle doesn't get a reaction coming out. Sure it's mostly kids and what have you, but as long as someone reacts to it, then why not? we like to call that the "russo theorem". i thought it was a bit dumb but it didn't bother me.

The problem that I think that a lot of people aren't getting with the Hornswoggle stuff is that the WWE is trying to create a lot of different audiences under one umbrella with it's programming. Hornswoggle is obviously not for the pure wrestling fans or the smarks, and is probably aimed for people who they think tune in to see freak shows and lame comedy.
Look at the way WWE describes itself on it's careers page or in any of it's disclaimers. The WWE truly considers itself the "last true variety show in America", and as such, I think, they truly believe there is a market for the Hornswoggle stuff. Because it's not the main angle on the show anymore I don't really mind it. It's hit and miss like any comedy a wrestling show does. This week happened to be bad, but what are you going to do? I would rather watch that then another meaningless women's match or a useless Snitsky squash or something, at least it has the potential to be entertaining.

I liked it. Like the Coach/TnT bit it was an homage to the cartoons of my youth. It was set up nice. The walkie talkie. The empty Ice Cream box. The Free Ice Cream Sandwiches sign. It was a live action Looney tune Cartoon with a Ron Simmons punchline and I'm cool with that. In fact this is the first time I've been interested in Carlito (or coach) in a long time.
I hope they continue especially if they do the classic Rabbit season/Duck season bit.

I want Carlito to chase Hornswoggle down and have him play a prank on Hornswoggle. Problem is, Hornswoggle is behind him, eating an apple, and takes a few bites and says "What's up, Doc?"
Carlito double takes, and it turns out he accidentally pranked Khali.

It was arguably the dumbest thing in pro wrestling history. The concept itself was mind numbingly stupid. But the fact that trying to pull off a cartoon gag like that with no CGI in a live action show just looked terrible. So basically it was a tremendously bad idea made worse by the fact that it was not even done half way decently. A true, "What were they thinking?" moment.

I've hated every post-Finlay bit involving Hornswaggle so far. But this, I found funny. Let me get this straight, people were willing to accept an angle that involved a leprechaun sneaking out from under the ring to attack Finlays opponents in the midst of a green glow. But a leprechaun sneaking away from a heel through a magic hole in the wall is heresy? I've said this before, but some wrestling fans just can't fathom a comedy angle. And often WWE's comedy angles just aren't actually funny. But I, personally, who watch wrestling to be entertained(be it awesome spot-fests, ring psychology, technical catch matches, hardcore slaughters, great promos and angles, and comedy bits) found this to be funny. But then again, I grew up on Looney Tunes.

Fans who want a little realism have no trouble expaining it away - like Undertakers mind games, but having actual dumb cartoon segments is going too far. I'm sacrificing a great deal of maturity to watch wrestling already, now I have to endure skits that belong on Lazytown or something? No thanks.

I'll admit to thinking it was funny. Just repeat to yourself "It's just a show. I should really just relax." It bears repeating.

It's called Ring of Honor. I don't think this whole WWE "thing" is for you.

Though pouring Drano down Colt Cabana's throat and not facing legal trouble for attempted murder is not a whole lot easier to swallow, if you pardon the pun.

It was arguably the dumbest thing in pro wrestling history. Do you realize what a bold and broad statement that is?

We all know that in the wrestling world the law is completely oblivious to anything that happens with wrestling cameras covering it. And for good reason...well, maybe not so much...

no one complains about 'takers supernatural powers, why should they complain about a leprechaun having powers

I heard about the skit from a friend over the phone, so I didn't see it, but I shook my head. Hornswaggle is over and the fans got a laugh, but I don't think that's a good enough reason to do it. I guess I have to much pride to be involved in entertainment. It didn't used to be this way.
When stuff like this happens, I always think back to the announcement Vince made on Raw 10 years ago, as he ushered in the Attitude Era and how he knew that the fans were tired of having their intelligence insulted. Now this.
And you thought 80's wrestling was cartoonish
