Why? Paul was a notorious liar and frequently bounced checks. Why have loyalty to him when he didn't have it with you?
Are you telling this to Ric Flair in 1992, too?
Awesome could have said "Look Paul, you don't want your belt going vacant, but you can't pay me the rest of what you owe me. Pay me what you can and I'll drop the belt to Rhino before I head out." Like I said earlier, why should he? I'm not showing up to my job if they aren't paying me.
Flair actually got fired while he was the champion by some moron, and had some ownership of the physical Big Gold Belt. He was perfectly in the right to force WCW's hand to get his deposit back. Awesome could have said "Look Paul, you don't want your belt going vacant, but you can't pay me the rest of what you owe me. Pay me what you can and I'll drop the belt to Rhino before I head out." ECW was born out of a belt being vacant, Paul could figure something out pretty quick on how to proceed. Heyman would have already been working out ten different potential angles to go with to maximize the fallout. Paul didn't give a crap that the title lineage had some asterisks in it, he was a story man. The story mattered, not the statistics. The only people who hold to this as the reason to be angry at Awesome...are the fans. The only people that despise Mike Awesome because he disrespected the ECW title are the fans. Period. And Heyman knew that and Heyman, being the guerilla warfare guy he is, played on that. It helped his narrative, nothing more. Here's how this works out in the real world: *A Phone Rings* "Mister Johnson, it's Tom Dole. I just called to let you know I started a new job at the McDonald's down the road yesterday, so I'll be quitting here." "But why?" "Well, because they will actually pay me." "But I made you Employee of the Month!" "Yes, but you haven't paid me in months." "Okay, fine. Well, at least come in today so you can work a full shift, give the keys over and train the new hire on how to use the grill. You owe me that. You owe our customers that. You...hello? Hello?" Exactly.

Bowling.
When I was younger, I could bowl a game that would make Al Bundy and Roy Munson envious. Now, I'd make Mr. Burns look like Walter Sobchak.

The early, pre-Tacoma Raw reaction to WCW, with everything they were doing getting face pops and their wrestlers, from DDP on down, getting cheered. It’s still unfathomable to me how it all went wrong thanks to one hostile crowd in a market that wasn’t traditional WCW territory in the first place. I still think that WCW was sunk under the very first sign of failure. Vince's ego is too fragile to want WCW to succeed.

If my checks kept bouncing and constantly being lied to, I'd go in the middle of the night, too. If I'm him I'm telling Heyman I'm going, then dropping the belt on my way out. Why? Paul was a notorious liar and frequently bounced checks. Why have loyalty to him when he didn't have it with you?

Hearing that he somehow betrayed the locker room by going to WCW is asinine. Imagine going someplace to earn money and not have to have it written into your contract a "bounced check" clause. Almost anybody else in ECW would have done the same thing, and I think most did. Ya, but compare the way Lance left, to the way Awesome left. Both left for the same reason, but one handled it way more professionally then the other. Lance went to Paul, said you breached my contract, I consider it null and void. I will continue to work for you, but I will be exploring my options to leave. Awesome showed up on Nitro, without telling anyone in advance. Dick move If my checks kept bouncing and constantly being lied to, I'd go in the middle of the night, too.

The fifth season was alright, but NOWHERE near as good as the first four. It had a decent remix of the theme.
But Hogan on the A-Team? Possibly, but I highly doubt it.

Vince would continue to go all-in on Lesnar and Roman Reigns to spite the smark hecklers in the balcony. Statler: You know that Roman Vs Jinder match wasn't half bad! Waldorf: Really? Statler: Yeah, it was all bad! Both: Doh ho ho ho ho ho ho!

When they used to tape Smackdown in Florence, SC all the time, it was only referred to as South Carolina on TV all the time... I was in my state's geography bee in middle school (autographs are $20, line to the right please) and there's no way Florence is a real place in South Carolina *looks at autograph*
You misspelled my name...AND YOURS, TOO!
But seriously, this ain't new and I'm not shocked by this. I guess Vince doesn't want to seem 'small time'.

When watching the news, hearing about DDT and it's effects on insects really made me confused. 'How can you put the DDT on a bee?' I would ask myself.

It's hard to believe due to how terribly mishandled the Invasion was but Vince McMahon legitimately wanted to recreate WCW in his own vision and he truly wanted it to succeed. He was ready to give the RAW timeslot to WCW programming and make Smackdown the WWE's flagship show. The Buff Bagwell debacle helped put an end to those plans but I do remember this episode of Smackdown that aired the same week as that match and both were pretty solid. I find it tough to believe that he truly wanted it to succeed when one bad match with a guy who wasn't known for being a great worker completely derailed all their plans. Yeah they didn't have many big names but really there were plenty of other solid hands that could have filled Bagwell's spot. Hell he could have asked any one of the Radicalz who was going to put on a good match. Then there's the bit that was mentioned above about them not waiting one week until they were in Atlanta, the home of WCW where even a mediocre match would likely be cheered. Seriously though, to write off an entire company off the back of Buff Bagwell? Vince couldn't have been that committed. I don't buy that story, either. It doesn't make sense.

Pfft. You amateurs don't know shit. Most people know that America got their independence when Hulk Hogan body slammed the 10,000 pound Andre The Giant into the Boston Harbor, creating a wave big enough to wash the crown off of the king's head. Realizing that the power of (the then unnamed) Hulkamania couldn't be stopped (an unstoppable force, if you will...oops, wrong person), the king admitted defeat and the rest is (revisionist) history, brother!
