So they seem to have changed the name from Tanga Loa to Tonga Loa. Feels a bit arbitrary but fair enough I guess. Same vibe: Better than if they named him "Humberto Humberto".

For the sake of doing it? No.
If it happens to organically make sense, sure, but I don't think he NEEDS a year-long reign, and really, no one does any time soon, it's been done, and it got old.

Cody vs Omos might low key be kinda fun. Maybe in the same way Cena managed to pull out a decent David vs. Goliath story out of the Great Khali and Omos can move around a hell of a lot better than Khali ever could. I’m honestly surprised we never got a Cody/Omos feud outside a single house show thing. Cody would do everything in his power to make Omos look credible. Hell, kill two birds with one stone. Have them have a match or two, then turn face, especially if some heel who put him up to facing Cody berated him for losing, and he just decks the guy. Ancient formula for turning a monster heel face, still works.

Sammy's one of those people who would actually probably benefit from just drifting around losing to people in competitive matches for awhile. Any new story he has going on for the time being is just going to be a firm, "Ugh, this f***ing guy again." Yeah, don't force anything, just have him mix with some people and see if anything shakes from it. Sometimes, that's when people stumble on something worthwhile. It's better than constantly being in Jericho's orbit or forever feuds with guys like Dan Lambert.

Unsurprised to read he was disappointed to not be in the game, like no shit, it's honestly still really egregious.

Gorilla was, by contract, employed for life when VKM bought out his father and his partners (Gorilla was one of said partners). I don't remember if it was Meltzer or Prichard who shared what Gorilla's pay was but it was amazing. Something like equivalent to opening match money x number of shows ran x every day. He was also only doing TV, so home 3 or 4 days a week and got his expenses paid. Think about that for a second. For a good chunk of Gorilla's run, the WWF ran 3 shows a day, double shots on Sundays, probably equated to 10 shows on average a week. I don't think I'm out of line with thinking that preliminary contracted guys in 1988 or 89 got 1k or more a week. You do the math. My pick is Rick Martel in the WWF. He wrestled like 4 times in 94, randomly showed up in 95 for the Rumble and then wasn't heard from for two years until he had a great, albeit short run in WCW. I swear looking back that he was done after putting Razor over for the vacated IC title on RAW, but I was wrong. Oh yeah, Gorilla made a lot of money. Heenan said once that he used to just carry huge wads of cash in his wallet when on the road, like in the neighborhood of 25 thousand dollars, "in case I want to buy something." Heenan: "What, a house?!"

I know which match you're talking about and I think that was Quake's last appearance for a year before returning briefly in 1994. I'm guessing he wanted to make Yoko look like a monster on the way out. I'd go with Brock/Kofi, I knew Brock was winning but figured Kofi would get some offense in at least before getting destroyed. Yeah, no one really predicted it because it made no goddamn sense and got no one over. Even Brock's biggest fans had to have been thinking, "Guess I don't get to watch him wrestle" as he cashed his check and gave zero shits.

I definitely think Hangman is coming back as a heel with the Elite to challenge him and I wouldn't be surprised if their big grudge match is at All In. I get wanting to crown Ospreay in his home country but that timing just doesn't work right now for me. My biggest issue is that I just do not think Hangman vs Swerve needs to happen again until Hangman beats him. He already put Swerve over plenty as it is, he doesn't need to turn firmly heel only to have the same result again. That would make for a great match, sure, but kind of buries Hangman.

Is SRS on payroll? Any type of open relationship with journalists is weird to me. Sure I may be overthinking, but if I was in charge of a company I wouldn't leak anything regarding programming. Tune it and find out for yourselves. Promotions have had complex relationships with press for years, like at least as far back as Bill Watts and other promoters talking about how much they wanted to beat Meltzer's ass or whatever, or naming jobbers after him, only to change plans sometimes if they felt the Observer, etc, were down on the direction, or even outright sending him information themselves. Same honestly happens with video games, among other things. They regard the press with disdain, but they also want to treat them as an arm of their marketing department, and don't want the heat that comes with completely shutting out outlets, so they will either grin and bear it sometimes outside of occasional bitching, or they will complain loudly while sliding tidbits quietly to the press they claim are useless, biased, etc. This isn't even getting into when they try to outright manipulate with false or misleading leaks to spin a story, or that employees who may or may not know what the f*** they are talking about will get their own thoughts out there off the record. All this is to say, it's complicated and SRS is probably not on the take because he doesn't really need to be, he would be less useful to WWE in the long run if he were an outright shill. He'd have no credibility and thus not be of much use to them.

As long as anyone but Michin wins this I will be happy. Please stay in your lane, main roster talents. This belt is for future talents who need some more seasoning while holding a belt in NXT. Ivy doesn't feel enough of a main roster talent, that I still feel her vibe as NXT talent. I don't disagree, really, though sometimes, they give this kind of stuff to someone to establish a title before handing it off, sort of like how Mankind had the Hardcore title and then it wasn't that long before they moved it onto the types of wrestlers who would come to typify the division. Just, if they DO go that route, do not give Michin a Rollins title reign, because woof, that got long in the tooth.

THIS MIGHT BE NOTHING BUT - in at the end of the opening for episode 9 when Xavier and Magneto collide, there's no mastermold/sentinel looming over them like there's been the rest of the season. Maybe it's because Bastian now or something, I don't know. Also, there's no way that {Spoiler}{Spoiler}that's Stryfe, right? I know he's a clone of baby Cable and doesn't ahve the techno-organic virus so he could go power for power with Jean - but then I went and read Stryfe's Wikipedia page and my head's still spinning as it's one of the most confusing character stories I've ever seen If so, it would {Spoiler}{SPOILER: CLICK TO SHOW}not be the first time the show took a convoluted story/character, cut out all the waffle, and made it more coherent.

They wanted conflict between him and Hogan, but that didn't mean they wanted to turn him face yet, at least, not entirely.

I was a fan of hers at one point, but while I am not currently really there, I will give her that, at any given time, she isn't going to make it on a top 20 of issues I have with the shows. She's become fairly inoffensive. Even in that dogshit battle royal, she was at worst *part* of the problem, since it was also just booked woefully.

Vito and Kid Kash in Smackdown vs Raw 2007. Vito's model was tiny so it's obvious it was originally meant for Nunzio. Kid Kash had his Pitbull's attire and theme but Jamie Noble was missing. Noble had the worst luck with making it into the Playstation WWE games as a playable character. Just Raw 2 on Xbox, and that was it. It's extra stupid because SvR'06 had the Trailer Hitch, though I don't remember if they called it that, so it's not like they hadn't bothered to put his move in.

They'd have gotten along probably, but Punk may have rubbed him the wrong way by clashing with types like Tony Atlas like he did. If Cornette thought Punk was disrespectful to veterans, yeah, that'd have not put him in Jim's good graces.
