I remember a thread in which a grown ass man was convinced he was going to starve to death because his parents went away for the weekend, or something of that nature.

Forrest Gump is terrible. It's nothing more than cringy baby Boomer nostalgia for two and a half hours.

Last Crusade is a half assed rehash of Raiders with an extra helping of Spielberg daddy issues.
Temple of Doom is a god damn cinematic masterpiece.

Randall Graves is a f***ing awful character. He was barely tolerable in Clerks 1, but I spent all of Clerks 2 hoping that Dante or Elias would go George McFly on him.

Here's another moment in 2002 that screams they were trying to re-create the Attitude Era - the ill-faded Austin/Flair feud. While Austin's feud was Mr. McMahon as the evil boss stacking the odds against the Texas Rattlesnake was well received and brought alot of memorable moments, his feud with Flair was nothing more than a re-hash. Flair didn't even come off as heelish in the feud. This should've been a sign at that point that Austin was spinning his wheels. Not to mention he was burnt out physically and while he still had the pop from the audience, his star has faded. He felt out of place during that time and after he put over Brock Lesnar(which was the original plan), I can't see how much longer he could've lasted if he didn't walk out and quit. I certainly can't see him make it to Wrestlemania XIX and have that final showdown with The Rock given his physical state he was in. And they've tried to rehash that feud with others approximately 287 times since then.

I genuinely think workrate has a factor in it. I do think Hogan is maybe a little bit underrated but as he’s not in the same league as other wrestlers who have said or done things just as bad (or worse) than Hogan it’s easier to dislike him. I mentioned this before and I still stand by it. Kliq-era Shawn Michaels was a bigger politician than Hogan, was a bigger dick backstage and dick onstage. Yet, his (rightful) status as one of the greatest workers ever seems to dull the dickishness for some. And I’m not excusing “born-again” Shawn either as there are plenty of stories about his behaviour since the comeback. Flair sometimes gets a free pass because he’s “naitchin’”. Because exposing yourself to people is somehow acceptable when you’re staggering around drunk. I admit, I’m a Hogan mark and I cannot for one second condone the shit that he said (or anything else he did for that matter) but I do think there’s a double-standard when it comes to him. I agree with every word of this.

Totally understandable to be fair. But from a fan perspective I would much rather have them kept WCW. I just wish the Networks gave them a chance in 2001 and they just carried on with WCW then only reset and perhaps on a smaller scale due to the roster. Here's the problem with that(as was with the invasion storyline), by the end of WCW's run, fans lost good faith in them, many switched to the more exciting and lively WWF. If WCW when it was it's own company couldn't succeed, what makes a WWF/E run version of it(that we were also conditioned to see as inferior during the invasion angle) be any different, even with big names on it? Personally speaking, I think the idea of WWF vs. WCW stars pitting against each other is one of those things that sounds cool and dreamworthy on paper, but can't really work in execution, mostly because in reality, they're all working for the same company. The reason the Monday Night Wars was an exciting time to be a fan is because the beef between the two was real. Seeing one wrestler defect to the other company was genuinely seen as a shock and exciting, and fulfilled with possibilities. That's why the brand split dosen't have that same effect because it's all a work. There's no need to have these "brand wars" going into Survivor Series because not only do they all work for the same company, they can defect to the other brand months later, rendering this whole "brand loyalty" thing pointless. I just don't think even with the biggest names WCW had going by the end of it's existence that an invasion storyline would work given it's circumstances. The red and blue t-shirts.....the God damn red and blue t-shirts!

2002 was they year that I slowly began to lose interest in WWE. Between the brand split (I know I'm in the minority, but I thought it was a stupid idea from the start.) The beginnings of the reign of terror, and the increasingly lame attempts to outdo the sleaze of the Attitude Era my interest, which began in 1985, started waning.

There is no way Clerks 3 tops Clerks 2 for me, because my friends and I growing up would use "porch monkey" to describe us just hanging around on our front porches. I assume one of us picked up the term from a casually-racist parent. I had no idea of it being a racial slur until seeing the movie. So that scene in Clerks 2 just had me rolling. It also had a surprisingly sweet moment near the end. "You're my best friend and I love you" Please man, don't leave me" That moment didn't work for me. Randall was an insufferable asshole for the entire movie, I didn't blame Dante one bit for wanting to get away from him.

For me personally, it was the Guest Host Era, so.....2009? 2010? I suffered through a lot as a fan before that, but that was what pushed me away, pretty much for good. It was absolutely embarrassing, and I could no longer justify to anyone else (or myself!) wasting time watching it.

Unpopular opinion:
I was almost disappointed that Jeff Anderson decided to come back. I love the Askewniverse movies, but I am not a fan of the Randall character. He was tolerable in Clerks 1 but I outright loathed him in Clerks II. I totally understood why Dante wanted to get the f*** away from him and spent most of the movie hoping that Elias would go full George McFly on him.

So, what you're saying is that you want Shawn and Marty to star in a remake of The Blues Brothers? Hell, I'll watch it. I mean it will be better then Blues Brothers 2000. so instead of coming up with a million excuses and begging his ex-fiancée not to kill him, Jake Blues just jumps through a window like a coward? Will you stop!

I have my doubts of any formal offer for Sid to replace Hogan since, while Sid obviously tended to get pretty popular, he didn't like being a face and felt the money for him was being a monster heel. He probably wasn't wrong, judging by how dogshit most of WWF's attempts to have face champions over 6'5 ever turned out. (Barring Hogan himself, obviously.) Well than 96 / 97 is the best of both worlds. He got to be a face with all the money that comes with it, but still do heel stuff. He attacked an old man and his son, and everyone still loved him. Like the WWF version of body suit man. Of course everyone still loved him. The old man was Jose Lothario.

The death of "pan and scan" might be the single best thing that has happened to movies in the last 20 or so years.
