Yeah, I'm a little late to the party here, but my list was on my computer, and I didn't have access to it for quite some time. So yeah...here we go! I'll try to post a few a day, since it's such a big list. That way it won't drag for very long. #20) LeATHERMOUTH - XO So after a couple of years of waiting, Frank Iero's(of My Chemical Romance fame) other band's album came out. And it's definitely a different animal from what you're used to hearing with MCR. It's a lot more focused on the hardcore aspect...not really a poppy album by any means. Great lyrics, not particularly subtle or refined, but great nonetheless. Just all in all a very fun release and a good one to let loose some pent up emotions. I highly recommend you kids check it out. Of course I'll say that about every album, so y'know. Also, my album reviews suck. There's a reason I'm not pursuing doing that on any professional basis. www.myspace.com/leathermouthlivesGo check 'em out there, if'n ya wanna. Moar later!

Ah, I was wondering when you were gonna do this. I quite enjoyed your lists the last couple of years.

Thanks. Yeah, I really wanted to get around to it sooner but it just wasn't really possible. Plus, it took me a long time to compile it anyway, simply because 2008 was an INCREDIBLE year for music. Seriously. So many great releases. This is the first time I've done a top 20 since I've been making these lists.

And because I am bored...here's the next one. #19) Alanis Morissette - Flavors of Entanglement Easily the hardest release since Jagged Little Pill, though not quite hard in the same way. I wasn't even really aware of it until it got released...but holy hell is it ever a great album. I'm reluctant to say it's a "comeback" of any sort, because I think every single one of her releases has been stellar. This album is no different. "Citizen of the Planet" is probably my favourite song on it. It's just so damn amazing. But really the whole album is. I don't really know what else to say about it. Just go check it out if you're a fan of Alanis.

Tiiime for the next'n! #18) Rise Against - Appeal to Reason This album is just explosive as hell. It definitely continues the tradition of Rise Against albums opening up with a ridiculously energetic number. The whole album is really great though. And like always, I agree pretty much 100% with what the guys have to say. "Hero of War" is probably my favourite song on there, for reasons I can't get into here. But yeah, absolutely great record. I expected no less from them.

#17) Kanye West - 808s and Heartbreak A perfect example of autotune not always being bad. This album was absolute greatness. Really catchy, unique pop music from someone you totally wouldn't expect. This album pretty much cemented Kanye being absolutely brilliant for me. Great rapper, great producer, he can sing, he can write great music that isn't rap...he's awesome. Seriously, this album was even better than I expected it to be. I'll admit, when I first heard "Love Lockdown" I was pretty surprised, but pleasantly. The only bit of the album I could do without is Lil Wayne, but he's everywhere right now...so whatevs. Seriously excellent album though.

Truely good album by Kanye. Helped me through my split with my girlfriend. It's a tie between Paranoid and Welcome to Heartbreak for best song.

Good to know it helped you out. It's always great to find one of those albums that you can latch on to when you're feeling like shit.

If Metallica Death Magnetic is not number 1 album of 2008 with Guns N Roses Chinese Democracy not far behind (5 or 5 highest) this countdown is highly inacurate

Ludo, Say Anything and Murder by Death were my tops for the most part, but there were more.

Aaand time for more! #16) Jaguar Love - Take Me to the Sea Excellent band formed from the ashes of The Blood Brothers. While I do miss BB, Jaguar Love is definitely excellent stuff. Johnny Whitney's vocals never get old...he's awesome. And the music is just ridiculously catchy and fun and original. It doesn't sound much like The Blood Brothers, but I really wasn't expecting that. It sounds more like Neon Blonde went in a different direction. Very, very good stuff. I love it.

Wait, I'm just now finding out that Whitney is in a new band.
Ok, I'm watching "Highways of Gold" right now. Good stuff.

Yup, it is indeed greatness.
Jordan Blilie's also in a pretty awesome band at the moment called Head Wound City. They've only released one EP so far, but shit, they're so great.
