2 days later and after reading the posts, I still dont have anything good to say about that commercial, when it was aired, and what he said during it. Anyone else hate the way the rock breaks out the fake smile and laugh he does all the time now, the snorker did it ALOT during the HOF speech... Its like hes smiling but inside hes grinding his teeth thinking "man i gotta resort back to these idiots again., im to good for this" flash a fake smile and that gay Uncle DJ laugh and hes gone! Until hes got something else to chill, then its back to advertising the wrestling community Might I recommend getting laid? You seem to have a lot of random pent-up anger that's seeping through to silly, silly things. And as said before, the studio is the most likely determinant of advertising (with the actors having zip to do with when, where or how) and The Rock is a trademark owned by Vince McMahon.

I'm going to say this, "wrestling community"
Come on guy, the Rock's not a wrestler anymore, and it's smart advertising to show up during raw commercial breaks, you know USA's biggest show monday nights.
I've never heard him say anything negative about wrestling or his wrestling fans, all that he's said is that he's moved on and that there are guys who've replaced him.
I guess some people can't take success and trying to make the people who made him a part of his new career by advertising towards them.
WRestling fans are the most callous and self-absorbed fans on the planet, no wonder nobody wants to associate themselves with wrestling in public, as some fans ruin the product in the mainstream due to their childishness and abrasive behavior.
THe guy's trying to make a living where he doesn't have to be in speedos and killing his body for us.
LEAVE DWAYNE ALONE!

I can not even begin to fathom how someone could possibly find this offensive.

I'm deeply offended. After all these years, how could he do this to his fans? I, for one, am saddened and somewhat disturbed that he's almost pretending as if he was never involved in the WWE. Is he embarrassed of his past? Seems like that to me. The WWE made him! He owes it to the fans to always call himself the Rock. He could at least have the decency to show up on RAW at least once a year to let the fans know he still cares. But clearly he doesn't so you know what? SCREW YOU DWAYNE.
The paragraph above is what I would have said if I actually cared. But I don't. He could call himself 'Double Trouble Crap on a Stick' and I'd be cool with it.

How in the hell would you know if it was fake or not? It's not as if you know the guy personally to make such an unfounded claim. Is this what people get riled up over these days?

What's the point of him returning for just 1 show every year? I don't understand that one.
Look, IMHO, he was fantastic on the mic but was very limited in the ring. A bit of a 'promo monkey' you might say, so I don't miss him that much anyway. He owes the fans nothing if he is happy in his life being away from wrestling.

I wouldn't call him a B-lister or an A-lister though. He's somewhere in between, like the guys from Entourage.

because every interview Ive seen of his, inside and OUTSIDE of wrestling before he became a "movie superstar", he was polit and down to earth person.. a real person
Ever since he's gotten these movie roles at every single event he does the smile LAUGH, and the same f***in smile at every event... If it was something that hes done before wrestling, or even outside of wrestling during his wrestling time I would call it genuine.... but he just developed this little fake smile and sarcastic laugh once he went "hollywood"
i could carless if he comes back to raw ever again, I dont hate the guy and Im glad hes making money but as my original post said.. I hate that commercial and how he came across..

He has to smile at these events, no one wants to see an angry or bitter person, it's how it is. Hardly "fake". There are far more things to worry about then what a man calls himself.

never said id rather him pout... the rock takes it to far with the smiling, the little fake laugh and his personality. Hes comes across as fake in every interview or appearance hes seen at. Just because hes suppose to be happy and enjoying himself doesnt mean he has to come across as fake.....thats why He'll always be a B class actor.....

He is still The Rock to me. I still mark for him. I also mark for his movies, Disney or not.

Don't see why people are bothered by Rock going to do movies. It's a much better career choice than wrestling.
And hey, if YOU were offered advertising in a slot where the people most likely to see your movies are watching, would you refuse it? Come on.

I hated that he referred to himself as "DJ" at one point. Epic fail on his part.

So because he's happy that makes him a B class actor? Wow, just wow. Never heard that someone can take it too far with smiling and apparently that makes them fake, guess you learn something new every day.
