After Raw tonight, it looks like they're doing Cena w/ Bret vs Batista w/ Vince at Wrestlemania. TERRIBLE idea. I don't mind Batista in this storyline, since he kinda looks right with Vince, but Bret Hart, a real WRESTLER accompanying a guy who wrestles in baggy shorts and tennis shoes, just isn't right. Cena vs Batista II is fine by me, but please, if you're doing this match, exclude both of them.
This is probably the biggest storyline on Raw atm, for once WWE, keep your golden boy OUT. Thanks!

Biggest face on Raw so it would make sense AND it keeps him outta the title picture? I got no problem with Cena being part of this storyline.

This is probably the biggest storyline on Raw atm, WWE will always include their golden boy. Even though he has absolutely nothing to do with the Screwjob.

I hate to sound like a dick here, but talking about Cena not being a traditional "wrestler" and ragging on his shorts? Did this post dig it's way from the depths of 2006?

Bret has said in several interviews that he respects Cena and wishes he could work with him.

But how does Cena vs. Batista in any way solve Bret vs. Vince?

Who would you rather have? Hart Dynasty (w/Bret) vs DX (w/Vince) Shawn Michaels (w/Bret) vs Triple H (w/Vince) This is Trump vs McMahon all over again. They're absolutely ruining it by inserting Cena into this. It's just not the same as Batista with Vince. Cena doesn't have "the look" of a wrestler like Bret Hart does and it will look wrong, and will completely ruin the storyline. It just looks extremely out of place and makes no sense. Vince has the big jacked up guy to beat down Bret, I get it. My stomach turned when they started chanting Cena's name.

Cena's the face of the company and the main guy, just as Bret once was. He's the perfect guy for the spot. And going against his biggest competitor, the same man who became a top star as he did is the cherry on top.
Plus it'll be Cena's first non-title match at Wrestlemania. That's enough reason right there to put him in this spot.

The screwjob was in 1997. Unless your what now, at least 20, 21, you really don't have that much personally interested in the angle. Moreover, who knows how much Bret can actually go in the ring at this point.

Moreover, who knows how much Bret can actually go in the ring at this point. I agree with this. Bret's my childhood hero, but I fear he may have lost it. Those punches looked pretty weak tonight.

I gotta believe he can't do much of anything at all.. even bump really, otherwise the Batista attack woulda had a powerbomb, spinebuster, something. Which makes the Cena/Batista thing make even more sense; if you can't really get physicality outta Bret and Vince, having 'avatars' ( so to speak) by two of the top guys fits.

But how does Cena vs. Batista in any way solve Bret vs. Vince? Cena was the one to finally convince Vince to bring Bret back to RAW so Bret could have a better ending then last time. Vince probably hired Batista because he knew Bret would attack him. In the next couple weeks Cena will make a save and next week most likely will come out and bash Vince alittle before moving on to his Chamber promo. Kill 2 birds with 1 promo. Fits in my eyes.

.....Moreover, who knows how much Bret can actually go in the ring at this point. I'm thinking not that much, judging by how gently they've treated him during the in ring "beatdowns".

But he wrestled like one. Cena is the big powerhouse who does shoulder blocks and scoop slams. It just doesn't fit and I feel that the storyline is ruined. And why haven't the Hart Dynasty been involved with this? Anything, even a face turn where they give the Hart Attack to Vince next week, whatever. It's very unrealistic knowing that his own family is on the other show and they havent interacted once.

They likely didn't want DX involved because Bret , Hunter, and Shawn still probably aren't the best of friends and didn't want to work together. And also because WWE didn't want fans to be forced into choosing who to cheer for in a situation with Bret going against Shawn. And I think the Trump/McMahon angle actually lead to one of the biggest 'Mania buyrates in recent years.
