Here is what I just wrote in the "Did anyone else notice" thread:
Originally I was all for a Bret v. Vince Street fight at Mania. But, it is clearly obvious that Bret cannot work a match on his own. Putting Cena and Bats in there is safe and makes the match even bigger IMO. Cena and Batista have good matches and adding Vince and Bret in there at the biggest event of all will be classic. I hope. I will be there. lol

I'm the biggest Bret fan in the world and I'm not a Cena fan.....But I kinda like this. Cena may not wrestle like Bret, but he's still the traditional "hero" type of guy that Bret always talks about. I don't think they're as bad of a team as some people are making them out to be. I knew Bret was never going to wrestle coming in to this. I expected them to have representatives do the fighting for them. I like that it's two top guys who, in the grand scheme of things, really haven't wrestled eachother all that much. I can look forward to a match like that. Bret will eventually take out Vince and put him in the Sharpshooter and everyone will be happy. Surprisingly, I'm very pleased with the way things are going with this angle.

Biggest face on Raw so it would make sense AND it keeps him outta the title picture? I got no problem with Cena being part of this storyline. AMEN. If Cena's away from the belt, I'm happy. I don't care what he's doing. Plus, he had a pretty good promo against Vince a couple weeks back, so if we get more of that, who am I to complain?

Bret's representative should obviously be El Dandy I'd say I doubt it, but then again, who am I?

Well, you have different types of pro wrestlers in pro wrestling, so I don't know how one type is a "true" pro wrestler and the other type isn't unless you start with some presupposition that says that pro wrestling is meant to be one type and not another, but that's not true.
Aside from that, if this were true, then it would be the 1st time in 6 years that Cena would not be involved in a title match at Wrestlemania, a somewhat risky move on the company's part.

It has to be Cena.
I have never been a fan but the fact is Cena is the man nowadays and as you could tell from the crowd last night they sensed what was going on with Bret was wrong and that he was in trouble.
So they wanted their hero to come out and save Bret. The new hero saving the broken down old hero. It is the logcial choice.

If it's Cena, and he's going to be fighting Batista, I would have done the Hogan/Sid finish at the Rumble, where Batista eliminates Cena, who then pulls him out from the outside, giving the win to Edge. Cena would still likely get cheered, since Batista is already a heel.

For those wanting the Hart Dynasty instead, I have to simply ask...
Why should the Hart Dynasty even be involved? Their entire gimmick is being "Better than the best" meaning they're arrogant, and feel superior to the Hart generations prior. And turning them face would IMO ruin them.

I honestly have watched little wrestling at all in the past 6 months. However here is my simple opinion in this. Cena NOT in a Title Match at WM for the first time in 5 years? Awesome!!! Some people just like to moan about everything...

Vince and Batista v Cena and Bret might work - so long as it ends with Vince tapping to Bret's Sharpshooter at Wrestlemania. That is the only logical conclusion to the feud for me, so as long as that happens I don't really care if Cena and Batista are involved to mask Bret's limitations in the ring nowadays. In an ideal world it would be a street fight between Vince and Bret one on one, but given Bret's condition that seems unlikely.

I don't see the problem here. Cena's the main good guy on Raw so it makes sense to have him back up Bret. I'm sure if this had happened in 2000, they would have had Rock or Jericho in a similar role. I'm not the biggest fan of the WWE, but of all the many things they've done over the years this has to be one of the least offensive or stupid ones.

I hate to sound like a dick here, but talking about Cena not being a traditional "wrestler" and ragging on his shorts? Did this post dig it's way from the depths of 2006? I have to agree with this, from what i hear he has sense switched to a singlet after he spent 3 years in japan honing his craft

I don't want Cena in this but, don't want Batista either. I'd rather their match stand alone or be for the WHC. The Hart/Vince stuff, maybe I use my brain too much but, wouldn't Bret trust his family above some random guy he's never met or really spent time with? I'd rather see them use DH Smith (if not the Hart Dynasty with Bret) against two others and Vince (sEs?) This match will be huge no matter who is in it.

When it comes to taking bumps he'd probably trust a veteran over a rookie. Even if the rookie was his own son.

Cena and Batista is a "dream match" by today's standards. Having it put on as a sideshow to the Bret/Vince feud seems pointless.
At least with Lashley and Umaga a couple of years ago they were taking two mid-carders and elevating them. In this case, Cena/Batista can sell on its own. They don't need Bret and Vince, and Bret/Vince doesn't need Cena and Batista.
I agree, it should be a one sided 2 minute squash where Bret beats the crap out of Vince, puts him in the sharpshooter, etc. Money well spent. Bret doesn't even have to take a bump.

Well, they are far from rookies and, Bret helped in their training but, even then, why would he be going up against his family? Beside, if last night was any indication, it's going to look terrible no matter what Bret does.
