now I want Batista to win the World title at Elimination Chamber so it IS a title match if they do Cena/Batista at Mania

I would've gone with the Hart Dynasty as Vince's reps. I could see them attacking Bret, giving him the Hart Attack (assuming he can take it), and then cutting a promo saying that Bret has gone soft and disgraced the Hart name by forgiving Shawn Michaels. They say they stand for the integrity and steadfast adherence to the family code. Bret then gets a tag team to feud with them. Although I don't see him with DX because, as someone has already pointed out, just because he shook Shawn's hand and said he sounded sincere the last time doesn't mean he'd want to work an angle with him long-term. And HHH is even less likely to want to do something with him. So, we would have to see who else. Maybe Cena and another top name-Christian, perhaps, as he's the only other face Canadian.

Five Moves of Doom-the Passing of the Torch. I've got no problem with it, and Bats will make a good "Corporate Champ".

I don't know why everyone thinks it will be a representative deal. To me it looks like they'll do a tag match with Cena and Bret vs. Batista and Vince, and I think that works because it allows Cena and Batista to do most of the work and then Bret and Vince can have a short thing where Bret gives him the sharpshooter for the win.

Christian doesn't seem like a bad idea. It would be like juggling between the B and C show's main eventers and showcasing them on the A show. However, as good wrestlers as The Hart Dynasty are, I don't think they're over enough to be in one of the main events at the grand stage of all. I mean, believe it or not, during the time of the Vince/Donald angle at the time, I cringed at the idea at first, assuming that we would get something horrible like Trump actually getting in the ring himself, but then came the plan to have Bobby Lashley represent Trump and Umaga (RIP) represent McMahon. I really don't want to see Bret take part in a match. I know he's one of my all time favorites, but I seriously don't think he can go anymore and I don't think he can take bumps either.
As for Cena and Batista, I still remember how around the time of the release of Smackdown vs RAW 2006, there originally was a plan for Cena and Batista to main event WM22, but with Batista's injury and the fact that Cena was getting very stale and dropped the belt to Edge (Only to win it back), that plan was scrapped altogether. Hell, the two were even on the front cover of the game.

I'm not a Cena mark by any means but this makes sense. Cena's current character now, a vanilla babyface is a lot like Bret's in the mid nineties. Different styles of wrestling but pretty similiar characters.

Maybe Kofi gets screwed outta his spot in the Chamber and sides with Bret?
i think it would be better than Cena.

Right. Because it worked for Lashley, right?

From how gingerly Batista was handling Bret when doing his beat down on him (presumably because that's the way Bret needs to be handled in the ring now)...I don't think Bret is going to be able to do much out there.

The crowd didn't chant "HBK," "HHH," or "Dynasty." They chanted for Cena. That's why this will work. Cena is CLEARLY the best choice. Say what you will about him, but he delivers in big matches and can handle the mic work.

People on this board always complain about WWE not listening to their fans or giving the fans what they want. The people have spoken, and that crowd CLEARLY wanted Cena, not DX, not Kofi Kingston, not Christian, and definitely NOT THE HART DYNASTY (who are nowhere NEAR ready for a story of this magnitude) or anyone else. Like it or not, the four principles already appear to be in place for this storyline with Vince and Bret's history, Cena's promo last week, and Batista's run-in this week. I'm not sure if that means a tag match, or Cena vs Basista 2, but these four men seem to all be in the same vehicle on the "Road To WrestleMania".

There is, in all honesty, only one other man who would make as much sense as Cena to stand in for Bret, or help him out right now, and even HE wouldn't be as physically able to go as Cena would. That man? Stone Cold Steve Austin. Personally? Cena is the right choice. He's the man now. Had he come out tonight, that roof would have blown off the arena times TEN. Honestly, he is, in just about every way, in the same place Sting was back in the day.

The reason I think it will be a representative deal, is because it limits Bret to just putting the Sharpshooter on Vince after Cena beats Batista. In a tag match, there is the possibility of a f***up, such as a collision on the apron. Like was mentioned in another thread it looked like Batista was going for the Batista Bomb but stopped, and Vince was going for a slap and stopped. Bret can't take a slap, they won't take a chance of something going wrong and Bret getting massively f***ed up. Even with guys as safe as Batista and Vince (you don't hear about them injuring people in a match), they won't run the risk of Bret taking a bump and it going wrong, even if Bret takes it correctly. Just remember the feeling around Brock vs Angle at Mania 19 with Angle's neck problems. Watching it live, it was kind of hard to watch because you knew all it took was one wrong bump, and Angle was paralyzed. Multiply that by about 1,000.

Yeah, Bret is not wrestling. In his book he said he had his second stroke riding his bike. There's a reason they went with hockey style brawling.

After Raw tonight, it looks like they're doing Cena w/ Bret vs Batista w/ Vince at Wrestlemania. TERRIBLE idea. I don't mind Batista in this storyline, since he kinda looks right with Vince, but Bret Hart, a real WRESTLER accompanying a guy who wrestles in baggy shorts and tennis shoes, just isn't right. Cena vs Batista II is fine by me, but please, if you're doing this match, exclude both of them. This is probably the biggest storyline on Raw atm, for once WWE, keep your golden boy OUT. Thanks! the baggy shorts and T-shirt are actually something Hart wears when he's not wrestling as I recall so it works.

I guess my question is, with these "representative" matches, what does it solve? If I hate a guy, I want to destroy him with my bare hands. Not "Say old chap, why don't we each pick a wrestler who doesn't care about our long-standing feud, and whoever's man loses will consider himself truly bested and humbled in the worst way!" "I say, good show old boy, you're on!" Obviously they can't do the hair stipulation again, so what'll it be this tim? Loser kisses Jerry Lawler's stinking unwashed foot? The classic if Cena wins Brets gets five minutes alone with VInce.

Shawn Michaels (w/Bret) vs Triple H (w/Vince) This. This, about a million times over. They had already set up for it right up to tonight: Shawn was the one who ultimately convinced Vince to bring Bret in as the guest host. Vince attacks Bret. They've been teasing a DX split for a while now, especially after the Rumble last night. Last night, we had Bret getting his revenge on Vince. Rather than have Batista randomly come out, HHH should have come out to "smooth things over". Bret, who still obviously doesn't like HHH, tells him to essentially go screw himself, and spits in HHH's face. HHH retaliates and starts beating Bret down. Michaels comes out, and stops HHH. He doesn't run him off -- just holds him back and says "What are you doing?" and calms HHH down. The show ends with HHH/Michaels/Vince in the ring, bret still trying to get up and regain his composure. The announcers wonder whether or not Bret has suffered serious injury at the hands of HHH. Bret's off for another couple of weeks to sell the beatdown. HHH asks for Bret to come on television so he can apologize for what's happened. Bret comes back. He starts screaming that Vince hasn't changed in 12 years -- he's "Screwed" Bret every week since he's returned. Vince spits in his face. Bret beats Vince down. HHH comes out and attacks Bret again. Michaels comes out and tries to stop them again. HHH attacks michaels. Bret/Shawn vs. HHH/Vince at Wrestlemania 26. Bret/Vince would probably end up being cornermen since it's obvious Bret cannot take even a basic bump. Or they could be tag partners, with Bret/Vince doing virtually nothing until the end: HHH beats down Shawn. Vince tags himself in (which could set up a HHH/Vince feud), and starts kicking Shawn. Shawn gets up, superkicks Vince, tags Bret in. Bret locks Vince in the sharpshooter, while Shawn screams "Ring the damn bell!!!" Ref calls for the bell while HHH lunges to make the save. Vince never taps out, essentially reversing the roles from the Montreal Screwjob.
