I rarely go to Gamestop unless they're having some sweet sales, so I don't have any horror stories. Though I did have the "Cute Girl Working At Gamestop" moment when I tried to pre-order the Lucha Libre game that never came out for the Wii.
Oh, and one time, back when they were still accepting DVDs, I tried to trade in a Troma DVD not realizing there was a topless Julie Strain in plain view on the insert. The guy looked at it and kinda chewed me out, thinking it was porn.

I always feel like an ass going in there by myself to do the Pokemon wifi events... With my 4 gen 4 games, having to switch the games out 4 times...
The mall where I live now has two Gamestops for some reason. I have no clue why because it's not a big mall, it's actually pretty tiny. It always frustrates me to be looking for something in one Gamestop, not finding it and having to walk all the way across the mall and up a flight of stairs to check the other one.

Same here with my mall, minus the top floor. But to tell the truth, I rarely have any problems with the Gamestop that I go to.

I've never had any problems with either GameStop I go to. Hell I'm good friends with most of the staff at the one I go to the most.

I've never really had problems aside from getting to the car or getting home and realizing "Damnit, I bought the first game/sequel and they gave me the disc for the sequel/first game." Which is no big deal since I'm friends with most of the people who work the local one, so it's a quick walk in "Wrong disc, dipshit", we laugh and I get the right one.
Instead, I'll discuss a decidedly non-horror story. I ordered Fallout: New Vegas from them online since the Online Only price beat the hell out of the retail price. I was told it would take 2+ days to process followed by 5-10 days shipping.
It showed up three days later.

I don't recall what game I got there, but when they did the upsell for the game card and all that, that's when things went south in a hurry. I politely declined, and the guy reacted like I was the biggest idiot ever, and said in the most condescending tone possible "whatever man, I'm just trying to give you free money here." It just realllllly irked me.

Wow, the timing of this thread.
My brother went out to buy the DLC for Black Ops. He clearly tells the clerk that he wanted the DLC for the PS3, since we don't have a 360.
Guess what? He gets a code for the 360 and not the PS3. Yep.

I don't like going to Gamestop because they look at me like I'm too old to play half of the games I buy. Don't belittle me because of my interests. COOKING MAMA HAS NO AGE LIMIT, THANK YOU VERY MUCH.

Yeah they should've told him, but perhaps your brother should've done his research? I mean there is a reason GameStop has their website. And it isn't just so you can order stuff online. It is also to see what they do and do not have.

There is one guy at a local one that I'd like to deck;I asked him where the games were that they had on sale, and he looks at me and says "They're at that BIG display over there that says SALE!",very condescending(and yes it was a stupid question, but at least be nice);he usually talks to me condescendingly, and it pisses me off.

When I was younger going to a mall with two levels was like the greatest thing ever. Of course, that was back when malls had fun things like bookstores and toy stores and movie stores and music stores and 5 different game stores instead of just GameStop. And a Dippin Dots cart.

Both for not doing their research. Sure, the employee should've said something as common courtesy, but on the same end, why my brother just didn't buy a PS points card for 5 extra bucks baffles me.

He could've grabbed some discounted PSN game with the left over PS points.
