From PWInsider: TNA, you're just too much. Can Jay Lethal, but keep those top-tier workers like Murry, Rob Terry, Arcadia, Okato, Robbie E, Cookie; guys who aren't as over like GenMe or those young, up-and-comers like Tommy Dreamer & Brother Devon. Makes a helluva lot of sense...

eh, he was a decent hand, but he just didn't have that spark to get him over to the next level. He's reached his potential, won the x-division title and tag title. I can't buy him as a world champ though. I'm sure he's well liked, but his act got stale.

Smooth TNA, saying you want to bring back the X Division and fire one of its big stars.

He was very believable in every respect with just words. The dude has it all IMO. He can talk, work, and get himself over. The last bit is key. He got himself over with a cheesy Macho Man impression. He got himself over being serious. That's not something that can be taught. He's better than most that are still on the roster.

The famous Lethal/Flair dueling promo, for your viewing pleasure (about 4 minutes in).

"You can't beat me! You can't... do me!"
lol. I've never seen that, Jay Lethal was legendary in that promo, I think I may have turned my opinion around on him.

MAN.
As someone who has not watched TNA in years, Lethal has been synonymous with the promotion to me. Maybe that's because of his falling out with ROH around the time they hired him, maybe because he has been one of the few indy guys to get a substantial push, maybe because his Macho Man impersonation summed up TNA's obsession with WWE.
Whatever the reason, Jay Lethal has BEEN TNA in my mind for years now.
While I never liked him much, I think he would be a fantastic pick for WWE.

He got a pretty good pop at Lockdown. I was there live, and that crowd cared about nothing, but Lethal got a cheer out of them.

I've found him to be very bland ever since he ditched the Black Machisimo gimmick. He has decent in-ring skills but i find it very hard to get into what he was doing. No major loss for me.

I expect the E to pick him up. As for his release, there are a ton of stiffs on the roster that I would release before a guy like Lethal.
I will mark like crazy if he releases a remix with Macho of "Be A Man"
Be a man Hulk!

Some of the TNA roster have already tweeted about how dumb a move this was.

Oh and a former TNA Knockout, now on the WWE roster, Gail Kim said the following of this news.
"Tna just lost one of the most talented guys I know in this business and also one of the best human beings I’ve ever met. What happened to building future talent? I hope wwe picks him up. Too talented to be wasted!"
