Only a year in prison for manslaughter? That doesn't seem right.
Celebrity bias at work again?

a year in DA PEN... All those injuries because someone was driving like a moron. Shit, man, bring on the self-driving cars.

How dare they consider doing this to A NATIONAL HERO?!?!?!?!? The greatest hero America has ever seen, judging by how people reacted earlier this year.
*rolls eyes*

Only a year in prison for manslaughter? That doesn't seem right. Celebrity bias at work again? Not at all. Cali. penal code has multiple different manslaughter offense and this is probably the lightest one. In fact this is dann near the text book example of it.

I always thought 'manslaughter' sounded way worse than 'murder'. They should switch them.
I think Seinfeld even did a routine on it.

Who's gonna be the first to make a very 1970s joke about female drivers in reference to this?

This issue she's dealing with aside, bringing light to violence against transgender people is not eyeroll worthy.

There's a way in here somewhere to plug my comics based on the fact one of them has a villain named Manslaughter who turns men into women. Just need to find it.
Oh, wait, I did find it.

I can already see the twitter jokes. Womanslaughter and so forth. I searched her name and instantly regretted it, just wave after wave of stupid jokes and petty misgendering. Oh well, curiosity killed the erm.. faith in the human species.

I don't think there's necssarily celebrity bias at play, though I'm sure having a great lawyer goes a long way. A year in prison seems light for a celebrity, but to someone who actually has to be at work 5 days a week at a regular job, a year would be very detrimental to their livelihood.

She's also in a position where she can be filmed as part of a personal atonement/redemption story. Just tune in to E! and stay tuned for Total Divas.
