What?! I'm in a state of shock right now. He was, in my book, the greatest rock singer of his generation. He was only 52. Wow. What a loss.

We need to keep Eddie Vedder in a plastic bubble, he is one of the few still around. He's definitely the last one left from the quartet of bands usually credited as the main acts of the Seattle grunge mainstream boom period (Alice In Chains, Nirvana, Soundgarden and Pearl Jam). We've still got Ken Andrews (of Failure) too, when it comes to 90s Seattle frontmen. But yeah, these are the kinds of celebrity deaths that make you start to feel old.

R.I.P. Soundgarden now joins nirvana, stone temple pilots and Alice in chains, in the group of 90s band where the front singer is no longer with us anymore. We need to keep Eddie Vedder in a plastic bubble, he is one of the few still around. Man Eddie must be completely devastated, Cornell was his mentor. I mean, what can you say but RIP to one of the greatest voices in rock history

I'm not too familiar with him, but 52 is so young still. RIP to him, and condolences to his family, friends, and fans.

F***. Just f***. I grew up on Soundgarden, Nirvana, Pearl Jam etc. listening to them with my cousin in Grandma's basement.
I used to listen to Black Hole Sun and Spoonman over and over. I never went anywhere without Superunknown in my vehicle. Later became a huge fan a Audioslave as well, he was such an amazing talent with such a distinct, memorable voice. Music world lost a legend. RIP

Shit!
Badmotorfinger is one of my favorite albums ever. Hell, I'm a huge Soundgarden fan, so knowing he's no longer around sucks big time because I would have loved to have gone to a concert.

I try to not get bummed about celebrity deaths but this one gets to me. I was more of a Nirvana and Pearl Jam fan but I really enjoyed Soundgarden. I had Superunknown on cassette back in high school and I listened to it constantly. RIP, Chris. Thanks for supplying part of the soundtrack of my teenage years.

A real downer. He always brought up memories in my head of Beavis and Butthead, and other quintessentially 90s stuff.

I'm a bit broken, I loved him not so much for Soundgarden. But goddamn Audioslave is one of my top ten bands. I haven't been to a ton of concerts but I made damn sure to see them more then once. Plus I saw him twice when he went solo I just love his voice so much. Soundgarden just played here four days ago. Goddamn it I had the chance to go and I f***ing didn't. RIP
