Downtown right now, the Space Needle is completely dark. I've never seen it without the lights on.

Listening to "Like a Stone" is more chilling now than it already is. Gutted by this news. R.I.P. I can think of a Sound Garden song that might be worse now... I won't be mentioning the title in case anyone thinks I'm making light of the situation. I know exactly what song you're thinking of. First track off "Down On The Upside." It's one of my favorites of theirs and i don't think I'll be able to ever listen to it the same way now.

Was just on the official Soundgarden website.. Soundgardenworld.com
The web operator must be in shock like the rest of us, cause their is no mention of Cornell's passing. And it's still promoting upcoming show, in fact they were supposed to play a sold out show in Columbus on Friday the 19th.

Wow, I forgot about the title of that track, even though I thought of its melody when thinking of some songs to recommend to my buddy who said he'd look into Cornell's work. We're rather blessed to have ever heard Chris Cornell's amazing vocals in the first place; I read that he spent more than a year confined to his apartment when he was suffering from major depression as a teenager. It's a wonder that he survived that dark period in his life, and actually came out social and outgoing enough to be a performer and tour the world. When you consider those circumstances, not to mention drug addiction, Chris' incredible journey was unlikely, to say the least.

Some of those hardcore anxiety/depression medications can have side effects like that, especially if you overdose or go cold turkey trying to quit them.
It's definitely plausible.

That's so sad. I've actually taken Ativan for anxiety. It's not a daily dose type of medication, you're only supposed to take one when feeling overwhelmed by anxiety, like you'd take aspirin for a headache. If your anxiety is super high though, sometimes you barely feel that you've taken it, so him taking one or two extra makes total sense. I've been tempted to do so myself in the past.
This just keeps getting more sad.

Yeah I read that earlier, and I definitely believe it. Knew a guy when we were teens who started taking medicine for acne and his attitude quickly changed, then when I said as much one night, he confessed to me he was feeling depressed and suicidal so I asked him "didn't you tell me that was a possible side affect of the medicine?" and it clicked with him when I said it, so they had to change the dosage, keep an eye on him for awhile. It was scary, but he was ok in the end. If acne meds could do that, I can only imagine what the wrong dosage of anxiety meds could do to someone.
Linkin Park was on Kimmel last night and dedicated the first song they played to Chris

Soundgarden played in Indy two Wednesdays ago. I considered going, but didn't wanna drive two hours on a work night. Definitely regret that decision now.

Yeah, that's the hard part people don't realise, depression and anxiety meds cause a lot of suicides if they're not measured correctly. Why? They give you energy and motivation to do things for once in your life, but if one of the things you didn't have energy for was suicide...

Hey, remember this?
Very weird but I kinda liked it, or at least I liked that Chris branched out. No harm in trying something different. Also, Klitschko at the bar in a cowboy hat is pretty great.

It hasn't really happened a lot for me, but there are times when I get upset about things I can't do, because of it. I wish I could drive, but I'm not able to. That's nothing in comparison to how they could make someone else feel.

It was touching that at 5pm EST one of radio stations played nothing but Chris Cornell stuff My station did the same thing at noon The big rock station here played his stuff interspersed throughout the day yesterday, with some...oddness. Played one track, the DJ eulogized him and then went right into AWOLNation's "Sail" - Earlier in they day they preceded another of his songs with the Pumpkins' "Today". On the plus side, they had the sense not to play "Last Resort" a single time throughout the day, which they usually play at least 3-4 times a day.

At this point Louisville really only has WQMF as a rock station since The Fox 93.1 has moved to digital radio. They talked about Cornell some but I don't think they really played anything beyond the ordinary. Or maybe I just wasn't listening enough since I cranked up Superunknown in my car yesterday and then borrowed my brother's Temple of the Dog CD today. When I asked him to bring it over he was like "Uh..ok?" and when he got over I had to tell him what happened since apparently he didn't know and hadn't seen the news.
All the musicians I liked during my HS years are dying off. Cobain was still by far the worst since I was a huge fan and it was at his peak. Throw is Lane Staley, Scott Weiland, now Cornell. It made me glad to read today that Dexter Holland finally got his PhD from USC and is getting published over his research on HIV.

The tributes are flooding in, and with Rock on the Range being this weekend, I'm sure they'll be coming in even more.

Yeah I think that's what my station did, I was too drained to listen through the day, but when I was listening to it after the hour long block of his music at noon, they usually played normal stuff with Cornell songs mixed in here and there, and they worked quick to put together a clip talking a bit about Chris' passing and then segued into an interview they had with Taylor Momsen from The Pretty Reckless talking about Chris because she was here in concert on Tuesday.
