This week's Raw is the benefit of a company putting on consistent creative that people enjoy. More people are willing to tune in and check it out because they are expecting to see something they like. It's why every show they do is up year over year while the rest of cable continues to die. Reigns/Bloodline is a rising tide lifting the entire WWE ship. This week's Dynamite is the inverse. Weeks, if not months, of down creative leads less and less people to tune in. Can we not make this an AEW vs WWE thing? Especially when WWE fans really f***ing hated when people were doing that when AEW was getting better ratings? It's one week where all of Wednesday's cable numbers were down, and now we're making it into a company comparison as to why one is "flourishing" and another isn't because it's doing wrong things And I guess we're just gonna ignore that there was a stretch very recently of Dynamite being up year over year because this number at face value looks bad, because sure. Dawg - I ain't making this a WWE vs AEW thing. I responded to a poster who asked for an explanation on why Raw was up and Dynamite was down. I gave my personal opinion on why this is happening.

There was a sale at the gas station. McDonalds is open 24/7 and the ice cream machine is working can’t compete with that!. AEW just isn’t very hot right now. If AEW wasn’t on last night but the WWE had a show I can all but guarantee it would have done a very good number, precisely because the WWE is hot these days. 🤷🏻♂️

TK should call Gedo and Obhari and ask them if they could swap Eddie with someone else because it looks like people are interested in Mox/Eddie.
Last min matches(due to travel and health issues) along with the bad audio mix hurt the show imo

Eddie is a f***ing star. I legit believe if he was the focus of Collision the show would be doing amazingly. It is part of the frustration of TK pushing aside people that the fans connect for.the proven stars of the last decade

If Warner's in love with AEW as much as they are I really wonder if AEW will push for an overrun, because it sure seems like it helps the ratings, they shot up at the top of the hour.

That's fair, I apologize, I'm probably just annoyed with how ratings discussions always go when a number any odd week is down The show starting with almost 950K is promising at least, I really think audibles as the show went on and the amount of people likely not available just hurt Darby/Sting vs Le Sex Gods sure shot them back up though, the overrun helped.

They say that when God closes a door, he opens a window. Well, AEW opened its 'forbidden door', and look at where it led. Only to hell. This was a door of the devil's himself, and all that AEW has found within it are the long trenches of Malebolge, along trenches filled with falsifiers and simonists. Do we behold the eight quarter hour, or do we behold the Eighth Circle? The flatterers of Tony Khan may find themselves in only the second Bolgia, but your dearest Booker of the Year awaits a deeper still into the ninth circle. AEW will not be touring the frozen wasteland of Canada, but the frozen lake of Cocytus. The Forbidden Door should never have been opened and now there is no escape from the hell many years in the making, all crafted by the hands of Tony Khan himself.

Just give me all Eddie, all-the-time please.

I enjoyed the show but it hardly felt like an important one, if that makes sense. May explain why people tuned out rather than sticking with it throughout. Sometimes shows are like that, you get the 'I can probably skip this and not miss out on much' vibe and find something else to do with your evening. But I stuck around to see Sting diving through tables and Jericho's incredible midlife crisis and I regret nothing.

If I wanted to watch Bryan, Cole, Jericho ,CM Punk, Saraya, Tony ,Riho,FTR ALL the time I would watch old episodes of WWE. And I really believe there is more that feel like me, that just feel like AEW isnt the same show anymore

I'm a c show without any build. And OC is great but he has no storyline or focus. And I don't think Cole and mjf storyline is particularly great story. It's not bad but it is not great Shida getting a match with Taya is literally to facilitate her getting to a TBS title match with Shida and gets Shida back on the show, if you think it's a "C Show with no build" then idk what to tell you. If you want to support the Joshi's getting into storylines and getting on the show, then maybe don't treat Rampage like an afterthought? Card looks great this week. Cole/MJF feels fresh and is only just beginning. I'll take this MJF a million times over when he's trying to be tryhard edgy. I know you’re high on AEW and all, but do you really need to reply to ever post that has even the slightest bit of criticism towards the product? Not everything needs a explanation or a validation, people just want to vent is all

I was excited for early AEW because it felt like there was a bumper crop of new stars building. Now, those guys feel pushed to the margins for a bunch of guys from late-00s to early-10's WWE stars.

It got better slightly after Full Gear 2022 and seem to level off at Revolution this year with an emphasis on AEW guys over elsewheres that kind of put a period on that weird bit of AEW's life where it was resembling the show it literally beat.

He says Eddie could have been stood beside him in The Shield buts his own issues stopped him reaching TV. He had a second chance in aew and could have been in BCC but he'd rather hang onto old bullshit than move forward. He doesn't deserve to be roh champion... He deserves to be aew champion but is too blinded by hate to realise. So in Blood and Guts he has the choice of finishing Claudio for good or rescuing a team mate in an inescapable submission, he finally lets his beef go and wins the match for his team. Leaving him clear to challenge MJF at Wembley. The place would go mad for him and either he wins and everyone is happy or Claudio comes back to cost him. Also allows MJF to not take him seriously and look past him to a challenger, presumably Punk the next week.

Not everything needs a explanation or a validation, people just want to vent is all This was an ongoing conversation which I replied trying to tell them about the one thing they were complaining about not seeing on the show I know people want to vent but like I've been conversing with Dub H this entire thread and it's been fine, you don't have to barge in and tell me I might be doing something wrong. I get I can reply to a lot of posts and yes I am fully aware not everything needs a justification but, if Ratings Threads are gonna be about the discussion of ratings and AEW and that includes the storylines and such, I'm just telling him that a good match he might care about is on Rampage that will likely lead to more for a wrestler they care about. I know about venting, Ive done my own bit of that in this thread lol, but me replying doesn't invalidate their feelings if I disagree or counterpoint and never does, though I do apologize if I annoy anyone, if I didn't feel like I had something to say or add I wouldn't reply.

The idea of Eddie taking the WHC off MJF at Arthur Ashe has literally been my light in the dark for the last year or so. The pop would make the actual ceiling cave in. I mean, jesus, this company has an MJF/Kingston program in its back pocket! Most companies would kill for that promo-off, never mind the damn match itself.
