Ehh they still made #3 for the night. If that's worrisome,I guess all the other shows they beat out must be on the verge of being cancelled Funny thing is there's at most an estimated 14,999 person difference between Dynamite being #3 and #1 for the night. The rankings were all extremely close to each other (0.25 NHL Draft vs. Real Housewives and AEW both being .24). And average P2+ viewership of Dynamite was overall higher than #1 or #2 (681k for the Draft and 781k for Real Housewives), but then that doesn't really matter for rankings since that's entirely based on demo.
I think without that big drop in the second half, AEW could've easily managed #1. But then it was a weird show overall so I don't blame people for tuning out until coming back for the main event.

I like analysing the numbers, no stress or anxiety involved & it doesn't factor into my enjoyment of the show whatsoever. I post the year on year stats for anyone who is similarly inclined. What I generally take away from these threads is that even on a low number week or in a cold period the shows usually chart very high which is a good sign for wrestling as a whole. I’ll just add to this that one of the real things that people should have learned from the Monday Night Wars is that if the pieces are down and things are flowing, pro wrestling can be a successful niche. For all the “30 Million watched The Main Event” stats or whatever, it wasn’t ever like a lot of companies were copying the format because of how specific and at times low brow pro wrestling can be. Even TNA was doing well for Spike before they basically shot themselves in the foot then did their own amputation without anesthetic. I used to be someone that wondered why USA was keeping with Raw even before USA Network became “The WWE TV Network and Chucky too” but, well, it gets the audience and fills the time. For all the talk of AEW spreading itself out too thin, it likely is doing better all around than anything TNT or TBS might put on that slot that isn’t an expensive re-run. Because pro wrestling is a very successful niche. It’s just a lot of networks won’t (and likely shouldn’t in some cases) take a chance on it.

Like we made fun of WWE's ratings going down the toilet from the 3's to mid-high 1's, but it still does way better than anything else on USA even in spite of that drop. And outside of real sports like the NBA, MLB playoffs, and occasionally NHL, AEW's some of the highest rated stuff on Turner. People just need to stop living in the 90's and 00's and realize people consume content way differently now in this era of streaming and cord-cutting. Like I think the ultimate sign of WWE's ratings success isn't the raw numbers, but their numbers relative to cord-cutting. Since Triple H took over, they bucked the trend and started to actually gain viewers relative to the rest of cable.

One of the things I hate the most about the Monday Night Wars is the obsession with ratings and how ratings were used as the one and only metric to gauge whether or not a product was successful. After 20 years, unfortunately nothing much has changed in that regard.

And yes the NHL Draft did better, of course it did, Bedard is literally being pegged.Well I guess there is a dedicated audience for that.

Knowing AEW's history, Rampage is going to do a randomly good number tonight just to confuse everyone. And that'll only be because people are finally taking a break from playing FFXVI for 8 days straight.

WBD is really not taking the rating well: Optimus Prime is an AEW fan. He's technically a Universal property so him giving Oppenheimer a hand in marketing makes sense.
